#Kintsugi, a JFET drive with dynamic sag circuit.

The primary circuit is the SSBS Mini, but I did make some changes along the way like implementing some snippets from the Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop and Benson Preamp. I also added an additional control to the dynamic sag circuit: “Brokenness” that acts sort of like an attack/decay knob. Just like the SSBS Fuck Overdrive, the dynamic sag unit is footswitch bypass-able, meaning the pedal can either be run with the normal power supply or be run with the sag unit activated. I opted against making it momentary activated because (1) it would require an additional SPDT toggle switch that I had difficulty fitting on to the PCB layout and (2) for my style of music/playing, I found myself preferring it to be a “latching” effect versus momentary.

In the future I would like to revisit the PCB layout and implement Incandenza Bypass.

Full disclosure: This will potentially be a commercial product but I have shared enough info on my blog and various forums for any persons to make an educated guess at what I have put together.

even if becomes a commercial product, I still like that you shared a lot of it. if anything that's a selling point for me

It may not be my sound, but I really like what you made there.

Looks awesome, and that sag feature gets wild! Cool textures with the Zoom kicked in too. Do you like soldering those passives (0805?)?

Nice, I like that size SMT too (any smaller and I probably wouldn't). I got into it for some eurorack builds where space is a concern but once you have a technique down it's smooth sailing and you can definitely cram more in if needed.

Awesome to hear about the enclosure! I thought that looked like it might be one of ours but wasn't 100%. Great to see nice builds going into those. We should have another batch coming this week - different finish but similar appeal.

That’s cool as shit, where’d the quote come from? Also from hearing it on YouTube, I’m wondering how it’d sound going into something like a really aggressive distortion or fuzz with the dynamic sag

if you're doing the current based one, it will have to be tweaked for each circuit, that's one reason i'd prefer the other approach
