#vilesa - failed payments

also: it seems the associated PI is: pi_3LIBVAGTsLVnzqGE1WLwQVl5
and it's "succeeded"
๐ happy to help, I'm stepping in for my colleague
however: if I look at the payment intent, it has a single charge : ch_3LIBVAGTsLVnzqGE1dWXi6Ss (which is succeeded, and not the one we started with)
what is going on?
also: why does it say on
https://dashboard.stripe.com/acct_1JAB41GTsLVnzqGE/payments/ch_3LIBVAGTsLVnzqGE1TK27gqF
""
Payment declined because cardholder bank required authentication
Until you update your integration to handle 3D Secure authentication, payments like this will continue to be declined.

?
we process thousands of 3DS payment per day so I believe our 3DS auth flow is setup...
I'm taking a look
thank you
๐ I'm hopping in since @slate egret needs to head out - give me a minute to catch up
ok thank you
I believe ch_3LIBVAGTsLVnzqGE1TK27gqF is an initial decline when we attempt the payment w/o authentication - because it came back as needing authentication we then request it and go back through the process again
ok I see
there is something off with stripe radar
this user for example: cus_LXPEYLPWOSWI4c
is a super legit user, good customer
suddenly we start blocking their payments: why?
That's something I'd recommend talking to support (https://support.stripe.com/contact) about - they can dig into declines for you

ok will do - thanks
one last thing:
-- I believe ch_3LIBVAGTsLVnzqGE1TK27gqF is an initial decline when we attempt the payment w/o authentication - because it came back as needing authentication we then request it and go back through the process again
do these kind of "initial decline" impact the risk score?
it seems they do. How come?
Again, that's something I'd ask support - I don't know very much about how risk is calculated
