Hello 👋
Let me check

Thanks for the response! I know Stripe had a France Terminal beta program that went live, just want to know how to set up our account (or add a new account) properly for this. I'm sure there is a way

rotund lodge
#

Ah are you part of that beta already?

proud laurel
#

I "was" but before we managed to do anything with it their support emailed me letting me know it's no longer beta and now public haha

rotund lodge
#

Ah gotcha
Looking

proud laurel
#

The real snag here is trying to accept EUR card_present in FR while the business, Wilson, has it's registered business / account, in the US.

rotund lodge
#

are you using stripe connect? or are you working with just a single account?

👋 stepping in here

#

This doesn't really make sense... the location is intended to represent where the Reader is actually operating.

#

If you are accepting payments in France, then you should have a location in France

proud laurel
#

Hi Bismarck thanks for the help. @rotund lodge we have 2 accounts 1 for US 1 intended for FR

proud laurel
dire terrace
#

Not silly at all.

#

Locations play a factor in the information used for the successful authorization of the transaction. So you want to ensure the location that you are using is within proximity to the actual Reader

proud laurel
#

Ok gotcha. Originally we were going to have Amer Sports EU (Wilson parent company) register, but, and likely a misunderstanding, a stripe rep from support said otherwise

#

Is there a way to provide the account an address of operation? So Wilson: registered biz add. in US but operating at times in Paris, FR (Roland Garros tennis tournament for fun fact)

#

We have* added a Paris location to our account (the Roland Garros facility address) to associate with the WP3 readers

dire terrace
#

If I'm understanding you then no I think in this case you just register two locations — one in the US and one in FR and then connect based on the location that the reader is being used at.

proud laurel
#

Ok that was my impression as well. (In short) As long as we tell Stripe where the reader is going to be used it should be ok

dire terrace
#

Yep!

proud laurel
#

Alright. We will go with that and try. Last Q while I have you if you don’t mind!

#

Will having the accounts “currency” set as USD still prevent this? Or was it just likely the location not associating, so Stripe assumes US biz, US reader location

dire terrace
#

Hmm good question

#

My understanding is that currency is tied to location

#

But let me check

proud laurel
#

Ok haha

#

Currently this is what we see in our logs from iOS:

#

So it seems to know to use the Roland Garros (Paris) location, but this was also linked before the account was finished being setup / verified on Wilsons side, and somehow the location is missing from the dashboard so not sure

dire terrace
#

Can you provide that request ID (req_xxx) that you see in the error?

proud laurel
#

Should this be in the dev dashboard?

dire terrace
#

I can see it in the screenshot above

proud laurel
#

oh ok

dire terrace
#

I just don't want to try and type it out lol

proud laurel
#

oh ok haha. which id is it?

dire terrace
#

req_xxxxx

#

StripeAPIRequestID

proud laurel
#

ohh i see lol

#

req_c31EvCGnBOt31H

dire terrace
#

thx

proud laurel
#

thank you for all the help btw - wish every company had such an active discord like this

dire terrace
#

lol ugh

proud laurel
#

uh oh

dire terrace
#

And missed that it is indeed on there 😂

#

So it is merchant country based

#

Not location based

proud laurel
#

so we're toast

dire terrace
#

If you change the country selector then it shows you which currency you can present in

proud laurel
#

lol

dire terrace
#

US only can present USD

proud laurel
#

ok

dire terrace
#

So yeah in this case you need to register the Reader to a FR account to present in EUR

proud laurel
#

ok gotcha

#

And the only real way to get an account setup / verified in FR is with a registered business there as well?

#

(Wilson can't create an account with, say an address of operation, since it isn't a registered business address)

dire terrace
#

Yeah I believe you need to have a biz address in that country. I'm not super familiar with this side of things though... it might be worth checking with our Support team for whether there would be a way for them to open a FR account.

proud laurel
#

Ok. Yea I'll reach out to them and see if they can maybe push through an account creation for a situation like this. It's all contracted between French Tennis Federation and Wilson so maybe there will be some legitimization idk lol

#

Well thank you for the help - finally got a nice conclusion on this instead of having our dev team test and test and test haha

dire terrace
#

Glad we could help!
