hi there!
This is the log for this code. As you can see I have the full stripe terminal object in the connected reader variable and right after if I get the connected status I get not connected.
Hey soma, thanks for the reply.
what type of Terminal readers are you using? also how are you trying to connect to them (USD, bluetooth, wifi, etc.)?
Stripe M2 reader
via a usb connection
and what's the exact error message you get?
no error message, it doesn't report anything,
Just that it takes multiple app restarts to connect after being in this state.
Hey! Taking over for my colleague. Let me catch up.
Hey os4m37,
This has been an issue for our restaurants for quite some time.
The way I got to this state was:
When I insert the usb to the terminal, it opens a prompt saying
"Open {My app} when stripe terminal's id connects"
[Always]
When I clicked that always it started happening, but when I restarted the app 3 times it did connect properly.
Can you share what SDK are you using on your mobile APp and what is your reader version ?
Also can you confirm that you are setting autoReconnectOnUnexpectedDisconnect to true when you connect to your reader ?
Ah I see the version here.
version: 0.0.1-beta.29
Reader version: 2.01.00.38-SZZZ_Prod_US_v12-481001
Yes I can confirm that autoReconnectOnUnexpectedDisconnect is true.
Can you try migrate it to the latest version ?

Give me some time,
This chat won't close right? Or do I have to start over?
Yeah sure take your time, the thread usually can remain active up to 30min then it gets closed. But don't worry you can always open a new one, it will have a reference to this thread.
