huh, yeah, i don't know of a way to do that off the top of my head either

#

gimme a bit to dig

I wanted to do this ages ago because I already use AWS secrets manager, but last time I looked there was no way to manage API keys via some API, it all has to be done by clicking in the dashboard. I haven't found anything that indicates that has changed besides this blog post.

ruby forge
#

ok yeah i can't find this anywhere in our docs, changelog, or other internal resources, so while i haven't fully read the article you shared (i skimmed it briefly) i'm not sure what it might be talking about

OK, perhaps someone can get it corrected? You can surely store stripe secret keys in AWS Secrets Manager like I do today, but you can't automatically rotate them with it since there's no key management API that stripe provides.

ruby forge
#

yep i can ask around internally and try to get it clarified! appreciate you asking / flagging

BTW, is http://insiders.stripe.dev/ supposed to be gone? I didn't see anything publicly announcing its shutdown. I tried to access it today to see about asking if/when there were plans to include a billing/invoicing settings embedded connect component, but it seems to be completely removed.

ruby forge
#

hmmm i have to admit i'm not familiar with that one, but let me check

low shuttle
#

it was a community thing that came about with the launch of workbench

#

and it was a way to get into previews of new features and ask about roadmaps IIRC.

ruby forge
#

i just found an internal note saying it was shut down in october

#

let me see if there's anything else i can dig up

#

ok yeah i don't think there's anything solid i can share here, if you want you can check with our support team via https://support.stripe.com/

low shuttle
#

alright I will do that

#

in the mean time, what would be the way to inquire about and share feedback on my use case for a billing settings connect embedded component?

#

Unless I've missed a way to be able to control the billing product settings of a connected account, it seems like the other way would be to have a connect embedded component to allow the admin to manage that in our app dashboard.

ruby forge
#

that's not an existing embedded component is it? or is this a feature request for a new one?

#

regardless for product feedback on components like that the support team should be able to help out too

low shuttle
ruby forge
#

ok yep makes sense. let me do a quick check to see if there's any similar existing requests

#

ok, i did just find one, so actually let me just +1 it for you

#

unfortunately i can't really guarantee that it will be built or provide updates for you

low shuttle
#

sure, that's no problem. If there is a private preview list I wouldn't mind being put on it.

ruby forge
#

sounds good!
