👋 Welcome to your new thread!

⏱️ We close idle threads, which makes them read-only. Once a thread is closed it won't be reopened, but you can always start a new thread if you have another question.

And we have a second question, I wanted to create a seperate ticket for it which I have been unable to do because there already is this ticket open and it said that there is no need to create an additional question and instead I should just ask here too. So here my additional question not related to the initial one on top:

Question
We sell domains that require a mandatory 12-month contractual commitment, but we want to offer monthly payments.
Is there a way in Stripe to enforce a minimum contract term while still allowing monthly billing, without allowing customers to cancel early via the Stripe Customer Portal?

Related Request ID(s)
None

What have you already attempted?

  • Implemented Stripe subscriptions with monthly billing
  • Reviewed Stripe Customer Portal capabilities
  • Observed that customers can cancel subscriptions at any time via the portal
  • Could not find a native option to enforce a minimum term with monthly payments

What are you working on?
We are currently using Stripe subscriptions and evaluating whether the Customer Portal can remain enabled despite our use-case needs to block users from cancelling their monthly subscriptions.

Hi there,
let's go through the questions one by one...

#

About the additional customer emails generally speaking our API does not allow additional emails for a customer. But there is a private beta for additional emails on a customer. But you would need to reach out to our support team for that.

About the minimum contract/speciual terms: there is currenlty no build in feature that would handle this. You would need to build out your own logic around making cancelations possible after one year etc.

#

Do you have additional information regarding this private beta? (planned release timeline in terms of quarter or some rough estimation just so we know if it is required to contact the support or if we could just wait until its in the stable branch?)
Unfortunately we do not. We are not directly involved in the development of those private betas. We have dedicated product teams for that. But maybe our support team can mange to get those answers for you.
