hello i'm sorry i have no request id cause my question doesn't concern a certain request

#

i've been making payments with stripe as a receiver i'm wondering how can i make a payment from my account to another customer and is it possible through an api

sturdy flint

#

well yes it can be both ways

#

i might refund someone and i might also make a free payment

#

it's in insurtech industry

#

technically it's not refunding it's a payment return on a certain coverage formula for example

#

and in some cases when the contract is canceled this would be a refund

#

i don't know if i'm explaining this clearly , if not tell me how can i make it clearer

sturdy flint
#

What does ' i might also make a free payment' mean?

#

Are you using Connected Accounts?

#

The party who holds the insursance, they are your end customer right?

proud nebula
#

okay so by a free payment mean i might make a transaction to an account which is not already a customer

#

what does Connected Accounts mean ?

proud nebula
#

the customer makes a subscription

#

then the process starts

#

It's a marketplace account like. An example would be ridesharing company. The main Platform is the company and the drivers are their Connected Accounts. The get paid after they finish a ride

#

It does not look like it

#

In your case, the only option is to refund the payment

proud nebula
#

exactly it's not the case here

#

but isn't refunding directly linked with the product's price ?

#

meaning for example if a contract is worth saying 1000 dollars

#

am i allowed to make a transaction to that person of 1200 $ ?

#

or any other free to type amount

sturdy flint
#

Unless, you're in the US and UK, then you can use Global Payouts which is in Public Preview and has not geen GA-d yet

#

No, you csn't refund above the payment amount

#

You can refund $800, lower than the original amount

proud nebula
#

exactly in insurance it might not work always that way

#

that's why i said it's not a refund

sturdy flint
proud nebula
#

and in certain cases when the customer cancels his contract at a certain periode he's also fully refunded

sturdy flint
#

Yeah, full refund is fine

proud nebula
proud nebula
#

but most of the cases it's a transaction to cover the expenses of a certain warranty in the contract

#

sorry all of my work is in french so i can't be precise while explain it in english xD

sturdy flint
#

no worries

#

The gloabl payouts might be what you're looking for

proud nebula
#

okay i'll give it a try

#

thank you

#

it's available only in us and uk ?

#

btw this is exactly what i need

#

Use cases
Send money directly to recipients from your marketplace, insurance, fintech, or e-commerce business for any business scenario.

sturdy flint
#

It is currently

proud nebula
#

so if my account is in europe i'm not able to use it currently

sturdy flint
#

That is correct

proud nebula
#

too bad for me i guess

#

i think i'll integrate the refunding and wait till it's available so i can integrate what's necessary for claims

#

one more question pls

#

in the roadmap , do you have any idea if it will be soon available ?

sturdy flint
#

I do not have that information

proud nebula
#

okay thank you
