I don't think such a redirect is expected since the boleto is paid offline separate from the checkout session. How would this even happen in practice?
Redirect to Stripe hosted voucher page
Note
Unlike card payments, the customer won’t be redirected to the success_url with Boleto payment.
from: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/boleto/accept-a-payment?payment-ui=stripe-hosted#redirect-to-stripe-hosted-voucher-page
For example, after the payment happens, it appears as in the image attached, so maybe as the payment is successful I would expect that it would redirect to the success url
Oh I got it! Thanks!
But how would the customer pay this while being on your page? I'm not saying its not possible, I am genuinely curious about the customer flow you're trying to handle here, since it conflicts with my understanding of Boleto usage. I'm in Canada though, and not a Boleto user myself.
Can you tell me more about how this would happen?
Here in Brazil if you choose to pay using boleto, you can just open the bank app and pay, and after a while it can show to the user that Stripe (or other) received the payment
Interesting, so it can be paid more or less immediately directly on the same device? Is that a recent change? I expect other teams are aware of this, but its the first I'm learning of it.
1- Yes, it can be
2- I don't think that it is so recent, but since the pandemics there was a rise in general of the payments using the bank app
Thank you for the link, I haven't seen it previously. I will try to find another way to make the boleto work
Great, and thanks for sharing that info! I'll make sure teams interally are aware so we can review whether changes are needed for handling boleto 🙂
Before you go, can you share your account ID or an example checkout session or payment ID so I can associate your account with this feedback?
eg acct_123 or pi_1234 or cs_test_12345
Yes, of course!
