Hello jack
when a subscription is expired because of the payment method failed, is there any deadline for the user change the payment method
hello, are u there?
Hi there,
Are you asking about whether it's possible to recover a incomplete_expired subscription to become active ?
yess
so for example my payment method is failed when the renewal time
there will be a retry mechanism right?
what happen after all try is failed
No, incomplete_expired is a terminal state, so you'll want to create a new subscription for the customer.
but what is this?
That applies to subsequent invoices that the subscription generates, and not applicable to the first invoice.
sorry what i mean is the subsription is already created
for example the product is 1 year
so the next year the user will be charged
what if the payment failed?
Ok, since you have configured a retry schedule, Stripe will attempt the retries accoridingly. If all retries fail, the subscription will be cancelled based on your settings.
if the subscription is cancelled, then the subscription cannot be continue? if the payment method is updated?
hello
๐ taking over for my colleague. Let me catch up.
once the subscription is canceled there is no way back
you need to create a new subscription for your customer
so if i set the subscription to cancel -> means the subscription cannot be renew anymore?
yes
so if i want it to be able to renew
i need to set it to
leave it a past due
is it correct?
i see
okayy i will test it
with advaned clock
for the yearly subscription, it will be 365 days?
on the same date
Note: You can only advance this clock to September 10, 2025 at 8:02 AM.
why i can only advanced the clock until this time?
what's the subscription ID?
you don't have a test clock on this customer
yes this is because you didn't create a test clock and attach it to the customer before creating the subscription
^ that would give you more control over the time advancing
what you're using is this and it has these limitations
since your price is a monthly price you can only advance 2 intervals meaning 2 months so September
the price you chose on this subscription is monthly

no worries
if the susbscription is weekly
what will happened to the email?
for example we have a 30Days reminder
if you click on the little eye next to each line it will explain how this works
This email will be sent 7 days before a customer's subscription renews.
this is 30days before subscription renews
so what will happened if we set the pricing to weekly?
if you search for Upcoming renewal events on the dashboard settings page you're on
you can configure how many days
yes i know
yes we have already heard that feedback
but for the time being unfortunately we only offer 1 setting for all types
okay
but is the email still sent?
if my product is weekly
but the email is set to 30days?
then the email won't be sent
i see okay
