๐ happy to help
you need to pass the setup_future_usage
here you can see I am passing set_future_usag, but still I am not getting that checkbox
in India you need to create e-mandates
I tried for US as well, still I am not able to see it
are you located in India?
that means you are considered to be a India customer
I am trying on local env but our all customer is from US
so I already passed that off session will that work for them
yes
but the change for "Save Payment Method " is visible for me
even if Iam in india
that's irrelevant
okay, thanks!
Hi there ๐ I'm jumping in as my teammate needed to step away. I don't think our Payment Element offers a checkbox to save a payment method as the customer's default payment method. I can see how that would be beneficial though, and plan to file feedback with our teams indicating this is something you'd be interested in seeing supported in the future.
Before I do, I just wanted to double check, did you see the checkbox you're describing shown in our guides somewhere? I want to make sure I'm not forgetting about a new feature.
So you are saying both the checkbox are independent of each other ?
So my requirement is -
- To hide Save Payment Details for future purchases. (Done)
- Set as Default Payment Method.
I want to know how can we achieve 2nd point
Where are you seeing that?
Where are you seeing that? Is that in one of our guides or something?
What I want to make sure of, is that you aren't looking at someone else's integration where they implemented a custom checkbox that isn't part of the Payment Element.
it is the screen shot of the guide provided by stripe for our organization. And now attached one is what I am seeing. Not able to see Set as Default Payment Method Checkbox
Is that public guide, can you share a link to it?
it is not public guide
Gotcha, I'm pretty sure the checkbox you're describing isn't a native part of our Payment Element.
You'd have to custom build that
in that Doc they have mentioned -
The payment_method_set_as_default feature is in private preview. Reach out to your
Stripe point of contact to have this enabled for any sandbox or live accounts
Ah, private preview, that's why I don't know about it, we focus on helping with generally available behavior and aren't super familiar with private features.
Can you tell me where should I get an Idea about private preview
If you were given access to the feature, then you should have also been given access to a guide for implementing it, though I'm not sure where exactly those reside.
If you weren't given access to it yet, you should check with your Stripe rep about getting access to it. Or reach out to our Support team if you don't have a Stripe contact:
