You should handle this as a sample Subscription use case
We are not a business. We are a non-prfit. Our Stripe payment link is on our website, but there is not option for recurring payments. When I googled it, it says - create a payment link with all the payment tier options, and then click advanced and choose DONATE. I couldn't find Advanced
Can you share the Stripe reference for this ?
I kind of half created it, but couldnt figure it all out.
Sorry what do you mean Stripe reference?
In Stripe - the title is called ACCEPT RECURRING DONATIONS
When I googled it, it says - create a payment link with all the payment tier options, and then click advanced and choose DONATE. I couldn't find Advanced
For this
Can you share the link ?
Accept recurring donations
Let customers make donations to your organization on a regular basis.
okay coming
You are referring to this?
https://docs.stripe.com/recurring-payments#recurring-donations
Specifically accepting recuring donations
Wait, can you walk me through from the beginning
I think I messed up right at the beginning
In the Stripe Dashboard, create a payment link.
Select Products or subscriptions.
Find or add a recurring product that represents the recurring donation.
Under Advanced options, toggle the call to action option to Donate.
Create the link and share it. You can share the link directly, embed it as a button on your site, or generate a QR code.
Track payments associated with the payment link in the payments overview in the Dashboard.
Learn more about creating and sharing payment links.
This is what I tried to follow
By just opening this link:
https://dashboard.stripe.com/test/payment-links/create
What do you see ?
Click on "Advanced Options" in the bottom left.
No it's optional.
But when I created this link I added $50 / $150 / $200 as options but where did they disappear to??
Can you share the PaymentLink ?

Yeah... hold on. I am so not a techy. I am a social worker trying to figure this allout
Between it's not a choice, if you add multiple option then the custom will pay them all.
You are probably looking for Pricing table instead:
https://docs.stripe.com/payments/checkout/pricing-table
Okay will that be inside of the payment link?
Hi there ๐ jumping in as my teammate needs to step away soon. Yup, Pricing Tables sound like what you're after if you want to show multiple pricing options to your Customers .
No, Pricing Tables are distinct from Payment Links
Hey
Okay - so once my payment link is created, how do I make the pricing table visible on the same link to the donor who wants to donate?
You don't, they're too separate concepts.
As shown in the guide my teammate linked above, you'll need to first create the Pricing Table in your Stripe dashboard, and then embed the generated code into your website.
Okay, once I have created the pricing table, do I copy and paste the code?
My web developer can probably help at that point
Yes, that is step 2 in the linked guide.
Also, does the payment link have a "recurring" option?
In the back end it showed "one time" and "recurring" but I don't see it on the link that the public will see
If you use a recurring Price, then the UI shows a message beside the price indicating the billing frequency.
ok
I have never used discord before - all my kids have - lol. Can I close this chat and get back to it later and re-read it?
Haha! I'll close it out once I've answered all your questions or it sits idle for a while, but you can come back to review it using this link:
https://discord.com/channels/841573134531821608/1336692983193669653
(you can right-click on the thread in the left pane, and click Copy link to generate those links)
Okay I think I have enough info to complete the payment link setup. Then I will go figure out the pricing table, then talk to my web dev. I have copied the link above. Thanks so much. Likely I'll be back tomorrow! End of day work here in East Africa.
Any time!
