Hi ๐
I think you need to spend some time reading about the different charge types you can use with Stripe Connect and how each approach affects how platforms collect their fees and how the money moves.
https://docs.stripe.com/connect/charges
I know your question appears simple but it's a bigger topic than that and you can shoot yourself in the foot if you don't understand how it works.
I have simply used checkout session for the payments
That doesn't change anything about my advice
so if I am getting correct I need to create a payment intent ?
Sorry that's really far away from what you asked about.
You are trying to split a payment between two parties, right?
That's a Connect charge. It doesn't matter if you use Checkout Sessions or Payment Intents.
You can specify all the same details for Checkout in the payment_intent_data parameter
Lets assume a product is at sale of 10$
the user buys it and the 10% will go the website as a fee which is 1$
and the remaining 9$ will go the vendor
Hello
Taking over as Snufkin needs to step away
hello
In order to do this split, you need to use Stripe connect. You should be able to route payments this way with connect. I'd recommend reading the docs my colleague shared above. They explain how you can set this up with Stripe Checkout
