I think you can use https://docs.stripe.com/billing/customer/balance which is the easiest way to accumulate discounts
but subscription coupons can be stackable https://docs.stripe.com/billing/subscriptions/coupons#stackable-coupons

the good part for the coupons is that they can be used and set per subscription
by saying they are stackable - does it mean that if i have associated 5 coupons with the customer's subscription they will be picked automatically and added to the next invoice
