Well you're not using our recurring payment APIs (Subscriptions) so the payment just looks like a regular MIT/off-session payment โ no recurring element. Perhaps that flags as an issue with the RBI
The card is saved/setup correctly โ we generate the necessary RBI mandate
payment just looks like a regular MIT/off-session payment โ no recurring element
yes, it may seem recurring to the client but it's not a subscription, we just create PaymentIntents ad-hoc irregularly
thanks for checking, is there anything particular you'd recommend we communicate to the client?
Yeah I understand that โ you have some internal logic that handles the recurring nature I suspect. But the complexities of RBI regulations require additional 'flags' which our Billing APIs set automatically when required, which is what is outlined in that link you shared. The same flag is not available publicly I don't think for intents โ let me check
you have some internal logic that handles the recurring nature I suspect
yes
Hmm, looking at the actual payment attempt for that intent it was indeed flagged as recurring which is the default for any off_session: true payment. Has this been an issue for other IN customers/cards?
Checking with my colleagues on this. I suspect this may just be an issue specific to that card
thanks, I'm checking how other India cards are performing
(I can also see you wrote in to our support team about this)
yes
the last successful Indian card charge is from September 26, since October 34 charge attempts were made and they all failed
there are many failures before too but some successful ones as well
we have relatively few clients from India so it's small sample size
This doesn't seem integration related to me (assuming you haven't changed anything). My recommendation would be to work with your AE (or the support team via the case you opened) and they can review the auth rates/declines on the account and advise of next steps
We're not really positioned really to help with this given that it's not integration related, IMO
assuming you haven't changed anything
we haven't, yeah
last thing I wonder about
https://docs.stripe.com/india-recurring-payments mentions October 1st 2021, other related articles such as https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=f0axrahc are also from 2021
the client mentions "Starting October 1" as if it's this year
are you aware of any new 2024 regulations? I don't find such.
No we're not aware of any new RBI regulations
Of course, sorry I didn't have a definitive answer. As I said, your account has an AE so I'd recommend reaching out to them directly
