This seems to be a guest Customer, those are not returned via this endpoint.

Payment is made externally, payment is not via code, it is made directly via stripe, using the dedicated page for this. What I want to do next is in the code to check if the customer with email x has an active subscription.

You can't retrieve Guest Customers, and Guest Customers can't have Subscriptions.
