Hello! In order to avoid the discount you'd need to remove it from the Subscription prior to the upgrade.
You can't configure the Portal to remove it for you.

Ah ok got it. A follow up question: Does a session expire if I don't manually expire it? they could potentially just sit on the upgrade page for hours before upgrading, not sure if I would know when to add the discount back

Portal Sessions are short lived and do expire if the URL isn't visited, but if the customer does visit the URL I don't believe they expire after that.
