@mellow bloom fingerprint is never returned client-side

mellow bloom
#

It is for SEPA: req_WBTqTjokOlRr8r

#

So, why not? is it sensitive?

daring spade
#

Well it absolutely should never be exposed for SEPA and it's a bug. And yes we consider it sensitive so we don't expose it client-side

mellow bloom
#

(and for other applicable sources/pms I guess)

daring spade
#

agreed it should (And used to)

mellow bloom
#

Ok. That's all I have for today. I will just not expose the fingerprint to the user. They don't need it anyway. We just had an SVG with card branding built from a payment method and it put fingerprint on there

#

I'll just take that away

daring spade
#

thanks a lot for that example request, I've flagged internally as this shouldn't be happening ๐Ÿ˜…

mellow bloom
#

No problem

#

I have a followup, unrelated. When I click to seti_1PWgPML7ilRdQXxEPRBUWOwR on the dash, then click the mandate, it takes me to a "mandate form" with the text "By accepting this mandate form, you authorize Stripe to send instructions to your bank to debit your account and your bank to debit your account in accordance with instructions from Stripe..." - but there's no accept button or anything. What am I supposed to do with this page?

daring spade
#

I don't know what page you are talking about, can you share more details?

mellow bloom
#

Yeah I can Dm the link, there's PI in it

daring spade
#

I don't really get what you mean sorry. Like where are you clicking in the Dashboard? Are you looking at a Mandate's URL?

mellow bloom
#

I DM'ed you cause it's full of my business info

daring spade
#

yep replied above

#

ah no in the wrong thread lol

#

okay thanks for the picture. That really just shows you the mandate text associated with the Mandate. You're not supposed to do anything with it, it was signed/accepted by the Customer when they confirmed the SetupIntent

mellow bloom
#

Okay, I just don't see anything like that happening when I test it. I just put in the IBAN and business info and that's it

#

so the "accepted" part is just them reading the terms and clicking OK?

#

I don't see any kind of auth flow like 3DS

daring spade
#

the terms are part of PaymentElement

mellow bloom
#

Okay so it's just that sample text

daring spade
#

yep

mellow bloom
#

Alright. I hid that in my case and just present my own terms that cover these points ,so I assume that's fine

daring spade
#

Each bank debit scheme has different rules. ACSS Debit for example requires a more explicit approval step

mellow bloom
#

Okay

#

I guess I was thrown off by the wording, as it implies action is required: "By accepting this mandate form..."

daring spade
#

yeah I think you can ignore

mellow bloom
#

Cool. I will soldier on. We're almost there and I'm getting my Creditor ID sometime next week, then we'll start accepting payments that way from next month

daring spade
#

awesome, hope it all goes smoothly ๐Ÿ™‚

mellow bloom
#

Unfortuantely that requires I pay for a Euro account at my bank, but it's not very expensive, and with only a 2.6 DKK cost per transaction, that should be covered by not paying 1.5% credit card fee

daring spade
#

yeah saving on that fee should be good in the long run but be careful with fraud!

mellow bloom
#

Yes I will only allow it for corporate customers we trust

#

Your average joe will remain on credit card

#

I will let you know that my bank was very confused by my request. I had to go through several support agents and explain what I'm trying to do in a Teams meeting. They did not understand how the funds would go to Stripe if I used my own creditor ID

daring spade
#

totally reasonable. We also added a feature to support microdeposits verification on SEPA Debit recently in beta which could help if you ever wanted to try it

#

yeah I'm not totally surprised

mellow bloom
daring spade
mellow bloom
#

Okay. I will say support quality seems to have improved over the last year or so, so I don't dread it as much as I used to

#

I'll contact and ask

daring spade
#

sounds good!

mellow bloom
#

What do I ask for exactly? I can't find any article about beta access for this for SEPA

daring spade
#

I was talking with koopajah on Discord who mentioned you have an ongoing beta for SEPA Debit payments where I can use micro-deposits to verify they own the bank account before debiting them. He recommended I reach out to ask for beta access directly to our support team. If you are unfamiliar with this can you escalate internally to someone familiar with that beta?

mellow bloom
#

Thanks

#

copy paste

daring spade
#

^ use this I'd say. You will still likely get stonewalled because betas are really hard for support, there are so many. But if you get blocked just DM me with your account id and I'll figure it out

mellow bloom
#

They probably just move it to email. They almost always do that if it's any kind of complicated, but that's fine, no rush for this.

daring spade
#

oh yeah I'd recommend email upfront, don't do chat, they can't help with betas like this

mellow bloom
#

Too late, but they'll just move it there then. I'll let you know how it works out.

daring spade
#

sounds good!

mellow bloom
#

(when they reply on email)

daring spade
#

Okay got to run! Have a great week end!
