Can you check if there is any error in the app logs?
Without error, we aren't able to help. We'd need the app errors in order to investigate further
Let me try to see if we can get it
Have you followed https://stripe.com/docs/google-pay?platform=android#going-live to complete the Google Pay production access?
How does this method check if Google pay is available?
yeah we did
It's been approved
For this method we got false
Have you logged in to an Google account on your phone with a card saved?
Which phone do you use and which country do you test Google Pay from?
Hi @bright crane Are you using Google Pay Button from the PaymentSheet ?
My phone is Xiaomi 12X on Android 13
Listed in Australia
No it's not from payment sheet above the card section
We offered two entries
"But when I used the play store version I couldn't call out the payment sheet." -> so what does this mean?
When I clicked on the Google pay option, in test mode the Google pay confirmation dialog popped up
Have you tested wiht a different phone? Are you testing from a country where Google Pay is supported?
But for prod I got "google pay is not ready" error
Yeah I'm based in Australia
Another phone.....let me see
Ok, so you are currently in Australia and you can't use Google Pay in this device?
Can you use Google Pay from another app from the same device?
Yes
In test mode the dialog popped up and everything worked
Can you change the merchant country code to 'AU' and try again?
Let me see
Thanks for the advice! I noticed it was in "US".
Do I have to list it in google play store before I can use it?
Tested locally and didn't work
Run adb -d logcat -s WalletMerchantError in your consol and see if it output any messages related to Google Pay
Yes, do you see anything useful?
nope...
It's actually blank, with the 3 lines only
Does it relate to the APK signing?
As in only app from a trusted app store can use google pay prod access
Yes, are you using the same certificate to sign the apk file?
Let me check
I don't think we can directly use the play store certificate to sign an app?
But it's from the same project. Maybe I need to publish the new app to store?
Yes in that case you need to re-publish from play store.
Just published it as internal testing but still doesn't work...
Do you have an APK that I can install and test your app?
Yep give me a sec
Btw do you have access to Google Play
Maybe I can share this testing version with you so the signing is not of an issue
Yes I have access to Google Play but I'm unable to share you my Google account email address/
Yes please
You can DM me the login details
Hi @bright crane I'm able to log into your app now. Let's continue the discussion here
Sure
The Google Pay button is working fine for me
Can you try again with a different device?
Does huawei phone has google play service?
You might want to try with a phone that comes with Google Play serivces. For example Google Pixel phones
Good point
