Hey there
hi
When you say "add extra X days" do you mean you want to shift the billing cycle anchor to be later by a few days?
for example, the subscription will be renew on Nov 1 but I want to give extra 2 days then it will be expires/renew on Nov 3
Okay and do you want to charge for those 2 extra days or no?
no, for free, no charges
Gotcha
Then using a trial period is the way to go
We talk about this a bit here: https://stripe.com/docs/billing/subscriptions/billing-cycle#add-a-trial-to-change-the-billing-cycle
Support suggests me to do that but there is a problem.
But you basically want to use trial_end to dictate when you want the Subscription to renew
for example, yesterday Your paid for a weekly subscription for $7, your subsciption will be renew on Nov 6th right. TOday i add 3 days bysung trial period as you mention. then Your current subscription will show as trial and expires on Nov 3rd and you also have credit $6 (from today -> Nov6). After Nov 3rd, they will charge you $1 more to renew the weekly subsctiption
Yeah you aren't adding the trial correctly
You want to set trial_end to be on Nov 9th
If you want to add 3 days to the billing cycle anchor and it is currently set for Nov 6
if I set trial_end on Nov 9th then they also have 6 day credit. because we just gave them 9 days trial?
👋 hopping in here since bismarck had to head out
