Is it a different one?
Why?

Looking...
I see that Apple Pay is showing up in Safari. Not sure why GPay is not there.
It is active in my settings
Yeah-yeah, everything shows that it should appear. But it doesn't... Trying to understand why now.
Apple Pay and Google Pay
If you wish to ensure that Google Pay is offered as a payment method while using Stripe Tax in Checkout, you must require collection of a shipping address
AFAIK it's that, you need to collect shipping information for Google Pay to be an option when also using Stripe Tax
Is there some option for that to enable in my account? Since I currently use the payments via payment links, so I don't have any forms on my side
when you create the link in the Dashboard there should be a checkbox somewhere to enable shipping address collection I think
I see, so for the existing products, I can create a new link with this option? I'll try it now
Can I only collect billing addresses? Since my products are internet services, it'll be strange for users to write all the data for shipping
you can only collect billing addresses, but then you won't have Google Pay, so basically the same as the starting state here 🙂
I agree it doesn't make sense for your service business, but it's a technical limitation with how the wallet works
(we need the customer's address to calculate tax, and the wallet does not give the address until after the customer authorises a payment, which is too late).
I see, but I'm not sure that in existing links I even choose the collection of billing addresses.. But if you say Shipping is must, so okay.
As an extra question, do this calcuated tax values are only applied to GPay? I mean if it is different for users from different countries. Because now I have fix comission for any payment
well to be clear I would probably recommend not collecting a shipping address, like you said it makes no sense for certain businesses, and just accepting that Google Pay can't be a payment option
do this calcuated tax values are only applied to GPay?
I'm not sure what that means
Yeah,it makes sense
I mean you said that you need to count taxes based on location. So I wonder which side it affects (me / my customer or stripe) because curently my stripe fee is fixed as I know
So this shipping information is necessary for tax which stripe will pay I guess or it's wrong?
well it's potentially all of those(you/customer/Stripe) , it depends what you're selling and other details. I would read https://stripe.com/docs/tax/how-tax-works to understand what the Tax product is doing. Not sure what you're referring to with a 'stripe fee'.
to calculate how much tax the customer needs to pay, it's needed to know their location(i.e. VAT is different in different countries or inside/outside the EU). Normally we can get the address from the billing information or the card details, but for Google Pay specifically that's not possible so instead shipping is needed, if you want to support that payment method and Tax at the same time.
Thanks, I'll read it . I'm a new to Stripe so can be missing something, but what I meant is the commission per user's transaction which is fixed for a few products with different prices (I mean comission taht I pay for Stripe)
I got what you mean, I now want to check if I can get rid of Tax option, haven't studied this yet
Because GPay is an option which I'd like to have, but as I see on preview Shipping details are way too much during the payment...
At least I won't be filling all this data😅
One more question, is it possible to set shipping details necessary for only Gpay payments? I mean to hide it for card transactions. Ot it is not possible?
no that's not possible
Okay
