Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹
You can store US bank accounts with link, yes

Oh, great. I am using Payment Elements and I was expecting it to prompt the client to save the payment method to Link when the payment method is ACH Debit, like it does with cards. But it does not ask the client to save the ACH Debit payment method and I can't figure out how to do that.

#

Could you please advise how I can save an ACH Debit payment method verified with instant verification or microdeposits to a Link profile so that they can easily select it again in the future after they complete Link authentication?

Can you share the screenshot of the prompt you're referring to so that I am on the same page?

Sure, Iโ€™ll send it in 5 or 10 mins

#

Here is the exact same form except with a Payment Intent that is set up for ACH Debit. You can see that when the user enters their email address into the Link Authentication Element it does not prompt them to save the ACH Debit payment method that they set up.

Ah thanks for sharing these. Looks like we're still working on supporting this feature on PaymentElement
However, I do not have a timeline on when it will be ready

mossy heath
#

Is there a way that I could manually save an ACH Debit payment method to a user's Link profile?

#

Also, what is the supported method of saving bank accounts to a Link profile? Is it supported through Checkout or something like that?

peak prism
#

Checking..

looks like it is supported on Checkout for US merchants but for other surfaces it is still WIP
It should be available ~soon but no concrete timeline ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

You can write into our support if you want to stay updated on this

Ok, thank you. So the reason that we are not using Checkout right now is because in our industry, processing fees are passed through to the customer. We have not been able to figure out a way to dynamically recalculate the total amount being charged in Checkout based on what payment method is selected. Is there some way of doing this that I am not aware of? We'd be happy to switch to Checkout if so

Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm stepping in as @peak prism had to go. Currently we do not have a way to dynamically set prices based on Payment Method type in Checkout

mossy heath
#

Is there any customization capability or ability to run JavaScript within the Checkout session that would allow us to implement custom business logic that changes the pricing information shown within the Checkout session based on payment method changes, etc.?

#

Or, is there a way to calculate a dynamic DISCOUNT in Checkout based on payment method type?

silver vigil
#

No I'm afraid not

mossy heath
#

How do clients save ACH Debit payment methods to Link profiles in Stripe Checkout? It doesn't seem to be working when I try it

silver vigil
#

Can you share the Checkout Session ID where you attempted this?

silver vigil

And when you say "it's not working", what is the behavior you are seeing and what would you expect?

mossy heath
#

It works fine for cards in Checkout, just like it works for cards in Payment Elements.

silver vigil
#

Do you select "Pay with Link" the second time to see if your Bank is included there?

mossy heath
#

No only is it not included there, I cannot seem to find any way to add a Bank to a Link profile

silver vigil
#

In my test integration the "Save my info" button disappears when I select the US Bank Account option

mossy heath
#

Correct, that is the problem

#

I am trying to figure out some way, really any way (lol), for our customers to save US Bank Account payment methods in Link

#

It seems to be supported by Link but I can't figure out how to do it

silver vigil
#

We have this line in our docs

Currently, Link only works with credit cards, debit cards, and qualified US bank account purchases.
But I'm having trouble finding examples of what "qualified US bank account purchases" means

mossy heath
#

Yes I can't seem to find any documentation on how to use US bank accounts with Link either

#

But there is clearly some functionality built in to Link to support this:

silver vigil
#

Right, I think it's a restriction based on type of product but I'm not finding any documentation on it

mossy heath
#

Ok well how do I find the answer to that question?

silver vigil
#

Looking

#

Okay we do not have any clear criteria for this, just a vague reference that you will see the "Save" checkbox when your account/purchase is eligible for this feature

mossy heath
#

๐Ÿ˜

#

Is there another team this can be escalated to?

silver vigil
#

No

mossy heath
#

... how do you suggest I get the answer to this question then?

silver vigil
#

I am saying the guidance I shared about is the answer

mossy heath
#

Ok, I am going to contact our account rep. Thanks anyways

Sure thing
