Now I'm wondering for the last day of the month how that exactly works and what if somehow the usage record would be delayed for some days.

is there some grace period to send the usage records
The grace period is 5min

What do you mean with "You can delay it for hours or days"?

In the doc I just see the 5 minute grace period meaning that at the end of the month, I need to be very quick to send all the usage of that last day
