There's no way to convert an express account to a standard account, no.

Also, with express accounts the subscriptions are created on the platform account (assuming they're using the recommended flow of destination charges)

So platform should be able to change the settings on their end, however the setting would apply to all the subscriptions (belonging to other accounts as well)

So that might be why they're asking you to create a standard account (so they can create subscriptions directly on the connected account which allows you as the connected account to tweak/set your own settings)

Right well I understand. Sadly we're now in too deep with our Stripe Express account, so we can't just afford re-starting everything from scratch again (since that implies cancelling hundreds of subscriptions manually). But if we keep the current account, there is potential for abuse of paying half the amount that is normally due. It's not the answer I was hoping for, but I guess nothing else I can ask for. Thanks for answering
