Or you can use Radar rules to block on incorrect CVC

Also at times the issuer won't check the CVC and it will return a check of unavailable or unchecked. See: https://stripe.com/docs/api/payment_methods/object#payment_method_object-card-checks-cvc_check

also, i noticed the payments dont get charged from my bank immediately but are shown as successful in my stripe dashboard

Hmm well first I'll note that testing in live mode is actually prohibited by our ToS: https://stripe.com/docs/testing#use-test-cards

Second, it is up to the issuer for when they actually populate the authorization on your card statement

Yep, if the status of the PaymentIntent is succeeded then the Charge is successful
