hi! it depends what country they're in and what those accounts would be doing, https://stripe.com/docs/connect/service-agreement-types would help explain it
i've read it
can you explain this to me - The recipient ToS agreement is not supported for platforms in US creating accounts in US.
and this too - 'Funds can't be sent to accounts located in DE when the account is under the full service agreement.
what can I explain exactly?
cross border transfers are generally not allowed; that's why the recepient agreement exists(to onboard an account as purely a receipient and not a merchant, which allows for cross border money movevment)
okay......
so how do i know countries that need the recipient agreement when onboarding
depends on your use case but a good start might be any country that is not US
i think i get your point
so those in the US can select the full service agreement and those outside the US can select the recipient service agreement right??
seems like it
please if you can confirm it, i don't want to assume it🙏
I can't confirm it since it depends on you and what your platform needs
for example if your platform wants to process payments through the connected accounts(German connected account acts as a merchant and charges an end customer directly with Direct Charges) then the recipient agreement would not be a good fit
but if you're just sending transfers/payouts to the connected accounts then it's exactly what you want
it's just to send transfers/payouts to the connected accounts that's what my platform wants
the platform charges the end customer and transfers the amount to the connected account, with this example, i guess i will go with this right?
yep
thank you so much
please one more thing
is there a charge when the platform account in USD transfers to a non-USD connected account, if yes, how do the platform charge for such
there are no charges for making transfers between Stripe accounts using the /v1/transfers APIs
there are fees for that yes https://stripe.com/docs/connect/currencies
Currency conversions use the current exchange rates provided by our service providers, with an additional conversion fee applied by Stripe. There are online resources for conversion calculation that can help you estimate current market rates
you've been helpful, thank you
