Hello! When you say "checkout payment pages" are you referring to Checkout Sessions, or something else like Payment Links or your own custom UI that uses elements?
Checkout sessions. I know I can apply branding (upload logo). But can I have two custom branding using checkout session? And then through the api I specify which checkout page/session to use
As far as I know, you'd have to set up a separate account or start using a connect (which would still need a separate account) in order to have different branding for Checkout
how to create a separate account within the same main account?
Lets back up for a minute - are these two accounts related to each other, or are they representing completely separate businesses?
I have two sites under the same business. I just want to have the checkout pages for those to be branded based on the site.
Gotcha, so then Connect may be a good option for you - https://stripe.com/docs/connect. You could have your existing account become a platform and create a new connect account that's linked to that platform
are there other options?
You can create an entirely separate account (don't involve connect at all), but then your two accounts won't be linked in any way
does using connect entails additional cost?
There are costs/fees associated with connect (https://stripe.com/connect/pricing), and I'd suggest talking to support (https://support.stripe.com/contact) if you have more specific questions about those fees (we primarily focus on developer/technical questions here)
ok thanks for clarifying things
can you clarify a bit more on what you meant by linked to that platform
Hi 👋 @atomic eagle needed to go so I've stepped in. What we mean by "linked to that platform" is that Stripe recognizes a connection between the Platform and the Connect Accounts.
Platforms can make charges either through Connect Accounts or on their behalf
You should read the docs @atomic eagle provided thoroughly as they explain the connect in detail.
