So a couple things to mention. Apple Pay is going to be a variable size depending on the view size and other styling factors, so I don't think you're going to be able to adjust the height correctly every time the page renders.
Is there any reason you would want to show the Apple Pay button before your customer adds something to their bag? That UX seems like it's bound to be bug-ridden (e.g. what happens when the customer thinks they added something to their cart by pressing the Apple Pay button?)

Not for the Apple Pay button. Apple controls how it gets displayed and is very particular about having control over how it gets presented
