I'd like to launch a discussion to continue from the ongoing Menhir changes on test world, but let's focus solely on the adventure part during early game.

Currently we've got inconsistent Resources coming in the beginning. Based on past discussions, there's love for the randomness (it is a game) but there's also a need for leveled playing ground so everyone has same opportunities. Both sides have been noted, but let's dive a bit deeper.

The first seven adventures:
Horse
25 Ointments
Book of Wisdom
15 Cages
Boots of the Chicken
350 Silver
30 Ointments

Would you rather change the current seven adventures to make room for resources, or add 8th adventure to give resources?

Happy to hear more ideas and see a good debate on the pros and cons of different options you see the early game adventures needs. Let's call it educated brainstorming ๐Ÿ™ And thank you already for joining!

I think the same people will voice the same thing ๐Ÿ˜„ From my side having a fixed 8th res adventure should balance the playing field. At least for Dynasty this should be introduced. Other servers probably doesn't matter as they are not so competitive..

Thanks, it's a valid point for Dynasty you made here. I know the next Dynasty will be an improved version and we're building towards that with test worlds and other plans.

the 350 silver is a bit of a scam tbh. It's probably the worst possible outcome for an adventure and to have that fixed doesn't seem great to me. I think it's necessary for the "Make a bid on the auction" quest? But I would rather see it replaced by resources and then have every player start with 100 or 500 silver by default.

I wouldn't want to differentiate between normal server or dynasty either tbh. Not everyone will play Dynasty, either because they don't have time at that moment, or don't like the speed. Deeming other servers less competitive feels against the spirit of the game since ideally every server should be competitive.

I agree, but most are not competitive, so res adventure not so important. But of course it would be good to standardize.

All worlds aren't competitive pretty much because people want different things. Sometimes a more casual round is just what they need between competitive ones, sometimes it's good to train and test what works, for learning, for hanging out with a group of friends. It's not possible to put the competitive mentality in everyone at all times, while people still want to play the game for their own reasons.

Doesn't remove the need to standardize so players wouldn't need to guess/remember how the adventures work in different worlds.

What? I am not saying that everyone needs to play every server competitively. People can chill on a server as much as they like, even Dynasty. Individual player choices/decisions are fine but there will always be people wanting to play seriously and compete for a win, on any server. That's why I disagree with labelling other servers less competitive than Dynasty and only introducing equal playing field measures to Dynasty, because that means other servers get neglected for those that want to play them competitively.

Im would be happy with removal silver from adventure also. To have it at the start - as you have 40 gold, you can have some silver.

Offtopic: Why do you talk about Dynasty everytime Klopp? Do you really think that Dynasty is the most tryhard, the most balanced and the most fair server?

I don't mind a fixed res adventure being added, it won't break the game or add too much of an advantage
also I agree the 350 silver is pants, maybe make it 1k silver? (so players can spend it on the auction or exchange it for 5 gold)

Well I am coming from primarily 1X background, not sure what you played before. In 1X terms Dynasty was very competitive, and you have maybe 1-2 servers like that in a year, and less and less. In the past there were many competitive servers like that, but in the last 1.5 years, it was only Battle Royale 1 and 2 and Dynasty that comes to my mind where you had such big competition. Other servers are lucky to get 1-2 premades, and it's even rarer that their player number is evenly matched (although thanks to enw rules, maybe this will improve). And when you have only 2-3 premades, usually it's not so time crucial to settle all cropper fast. I think on Dynasty all the 15c were gone within 24 hours.

Fixed res from 8th adventure sound good to me. On every server. Dynasty being competitive is more of a meme than fact, most of the best 3x teams can't stand the snail speed. But yeah thats a different conversation and everyone for their own i guess.

For me, the less random the better. Is it possibly to give a choice - an adventure with predetermined (may be with the lowest quality) reward or random as it's now? (btw, random reward may always be greater than the lowest)
To avoid getting equipment early for auction, there may be a gap - for example, equipment since 2 weeks (for x1) after start every new tier, etc.

It's a bit weird to talk about competitive when you have random rewards. One player may have resources on 9th, 10th, 11th, etc adventures that will help him to grow faster, another player may get only 10 bandanas, 4 cages and nothing. One player may receive fast club/horn/helms/etc, another one should play weeks without it, etc..

Yes I prefer the old speedsettling when you knew exactly when you will settle and how much extra resource you get. But now we will need to live with the new system.
Surely 9th,10th,11th etc. res adventure would boost people, but from the first tests as long as everyone gets one fixed adventure (Nr. 8) should be enough to settle on time.
Regarding equipment, you can always buy it in the Auction. You have to accept that you need gold to be really competitive in this game.

But, amount of gold? Of course, with unlimited gold you can always buy everything, but how many people have unlimited gold?
Is it really true competitive story, when the more gold you have the easier/faster you grow?

well, the main issue is that if there is more people with more money than you, the gold becomes much less valuable - its easy to see on more populated vs more empty worlds. diff in price of artworks/club weapons/training helmet are really huge

on some server you can buy 3 big packs and it may be enough.. and on some others even 6 is not enough if you really want to be really competitive

Yes, (large amount of) gold gives incredible advantage, so maybe it can be changed?
If we are talking about competitive - everyone wants to be the best in something. But if he cannot be competitive without large amount of gold he isn't interested to play -> the amount of players is decreasing.

Imho, if the situation is changed in such a way that, for example, ~100-200 dollars will be enough for real competitive for a whole server, the much more player will pay this price and it attracts new/old players.
It can be done if consumables are very cheap and you can predictably have equipment you need (at least with low quality)

You can have both... Of course multi accounts should be fixed as well.
Unlimited gold is one type of advantage, multi accounts - another one.
But if you have one type of advantage, why do you complain about other, who have the second one?...

Plus main aspects of gold can be achieved with smaller amount of gold too. Res, crop bonus and Travian Plus don't require a lot of gold.

settling is only one part of a game, that lasts a few days only. With gold you grow much more faster during the all server time

Hey, one more thing - gather your friends for comments.

Resource quests by default give random goodies.

But... We can set the 7th quest as "static" - same amount of resources for everyone from that adventure.

Do you prefer randomness over a set amount of resources for 7th adventure?

And as always, if you have something to add to it, be it about the amount of res or some other way to match the 7th adventure to your needs, I'm all ears!

Makes sense for it to be a set amount for everyone; same as the first 6 other adventure rewards. Don't mind losing 5 ointments if that means we get a set res adventure gaulcheerful

Don't know if it helps to know (or if it's different for x3/x5 servers), but we did several speedsettling tests without menhiring on x1 servers and realized pretty soon that a total of 2300 resources from adventure was crucial

Random res adventure with a total of 1800 res in one test had us waiting for res production/hour, and random loot of 2600 res in another test left us with a surplus of 333 res after partying

Though, whatever the amount, I'm already glad we're getting a set res adventure! Thanks for listening to all the feedback! handshake

All worlds launching in October and forward will have the new set of early adventures.

  7. 2.400 Resources

We decided on a big pile of resources so the road to settling the 2nd village has no bumps.

And yep, the 4-4-4-6 "Fair Menhirs" are coming together with the new adventures October and forward.

Menhirs are coming too. The early adventure changes are a solution to what some commented was a slow start with the latest Menhir changes. So these updated adventures are part of the Menhir update.

I don't remember where it was announced, but couldn't be in detail at least. Kingdom Cap for example will not join October worlds. The team still managed to find time to act on Menhirs and early adventures.

Another update that's live today on all worlds improves RET. I bet the team will be busy checking out accounts and I hope you'll notice an improvement as days/weeks pass. I cannot add anything more to that.
