I raised this several times to bds in the closed beta. I too prefer the previous system.
His stance is that they have moved away from the previous system and prefer this new one, as it relies more on the players stats.

Seeing how manual the defense is why not a manual pass system too(I know I asked it a lot of times but I am shameless)
Isn't there any way to 1st select the player then take into consideration our aim?
In my mind, if you want the players stats to have more impact on the speed / trajectory of the ball, thats fine (rather than our own input impacting the speed of the ball).
But the game should not be redirecting through passes as drastically as it can do right now.
There are instances where its so absured that you cant believe the game cooked it up đ .
I would think of it like line of sight..if I look forward, I can see slightly to my right and slightly to my left, but I cant see 90 degrees left or right. Make a rule so that certain angles are not possible. Something like that.
If it is for stat a manual system would work too, less stat less precision and ball speed , more stat more precision and ball speed
The human playerâs decision should always take priority, much more than player stats. Otherwise, you might as well play a simulation game like Football Manager, recruit players with the stats you want, and just coach
Short answer is that this feature has potentially regressed a bit since implementation, due to other features around it.
We are looking into it, as itâs not functioning 100% the way we implemented it at the moment . So thanks for highlighting this!

Id 100% agree the passing does definitely feel much more Automated which isn't great, especially as I've noticed I havent really had my passes(especially through balls intercepted much, which is very different to alpha showing that its definitely too op and too automated
gonna hijack to post my through ball frustrations in here as well
right here i'm running straight up on purpose, and imo you should be able to play a through ball towards the side without any chance of it being intercepted. with the previous iteration you used to be able to play the ball like in the screenshot
right here i'm aiming like in the screenshot. the fact that the game decides when to play the ball in front or behind the defender is problematic imo, it makes them way too unreliable and leads to situations where the discrepancy in the angle you aim your joystick at & the actual path of the ball is way too big
and this was probably one of the worst ones

Hopefully. Not drastic ones though.
After playing another game of trying mainly through balls I can definitely back this issue through ball issue, angle always feels different to input direction
Yeah the angles can be a little extreme.
