Kazimir's feat starts by saying "If Morozov is in Human Form, immediately replace him with his Shifted Form." If you feat with Kazimir, and you cannot physically place the Shifted Form on the table, does Kazimir get removed from play, ending the game in an immediate loss?

Sounds like.

So, uh...don't do that.

Sounds like a good time for a crit smite and some beatbacks

Realistic situation in which this is relevant: Someone feats, shifts other models first, then goes to shift Kazimir and realizes he cannot be placed. The game state is irreparably altered by shifting some models. You cannot rewind it. You must now determine how to resolve this situation. In similar situations I believe the ruling was that if you cannot physically place a model that is replacing another model (such as a dragoon) then the model is removed from play.

Get in the habit of replacing him first, and rewinding as necessary.

Obviously the practical advice is don't do that, as with most mistakes in the game. But I want to know what the ruling is on how to resolve if someone does do this.

This is the rules forum, after all.

You already nailed it - if you can't place a model that must be placed, it's removed from play.

Ergo, if a player does choose to do this, then the feating player would immediately lose the game (assuming they have no more leader models on the table). So the "simplest" answer is don't. If you do, at least saying "ok I won't feat" is likely easily implemented.

I see nothing in the rules that says you remove that model from play when you cant place a model that must be placed.

It's not that the replacing model is removed from play, per se, but that it cannot be placed to begin with if there isn't room for it. So you're left without the replacing model which, in this case, means you're left without a Leader model.
