#WIndows 11 doesnt recognize DS Edge anymore

It seems like my Windows 11 doesnt recognize my DS Edge anymore. It worked perfectly fine like 1-2 months ago. I could change the stick curves, button layout etc..

But today (with up to date win11) it seems like my controller isnt using the Nefarius driver anymore. If i connect my controller throu usb. It will just show up under USB-Devices. And it will show up twice.

In DSX the controller wont be recognized anymore. Disconnecting the copntroller and connecting again wont do anything but just let the USB-Device (DualSense Edge Wireless Controller) disapear/ appear in the device manager. DSX wont recognize it anymore.

Also the controller wonr be recognized by the Edge Browser anymore. (whre i could visit some calibration sites, to calibrate the sticks)

yes tried to deinstall dualsense devices and scanned for hardware changes... windows deinstalls them... but if i connect the dsedge again they pop up again

ehm one of the "dualsense controllers" allows me manually install the nefarius driver... after that it appears under audio devices

#

mm i would say maybe try using a paperclip or something to push the reset button inside the pinhole on the back of the controller

#

if you have a bluetooth adapter you might wanna try connecting by bluetooth and see if that works. maybe you can use Playstation Accessories to update the firmware on the controller and then try plugging it in

#

controller fw it on the newest version

#

its kinda strange that the controller totally bypasses the nefarius driver ?

#

or "windows" does it ?

#

does resetting the controller resets the set up stick callibration ?

Or is it working fine now

OH

#

Well that's just weird then

#

All I can think of is CPU chipset drivers or different cable

tardy estuary
#

i had a similar problem back in the day before i even bought DSX. i had some other drivers installed for the Dualshock4. But installing naferius driver and deinstalling everything a had previously worked totally fine... but i just didnt used DSX for like 2 months or so and just updated windows from time to time... and now it wont recognize the contoller anymore

just connected a different controller (normal dualsense) and it will be detected by DSX

#

same cable

#

does it maybe has anything to do thats im on a beta fw with my PS5 ? cant remember if the controller got also an update

#

so ps5 is on the beta fw

#

btw the normal dualsense wont pop up as "usb-devices" in the device manager

#

tried different usb ports now... same story the dsedge is recognised as "USB-Devices"

#

just Tested the Playstation Accossories program for the PC... it wont recognize it either...

tardy estuary
#

seems like its probably the dsedge usb port which is not working properly ? so basically the dsedge will be either shown as "USB device" (like in the screenshot) or sometimes as Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) with code 43

i cant select the driver you are mentioning. One of the "USB-devices" can only select some audio drivers. And the Other doesnt even have the option to selext the driver you are mentioning.

vital cosmos
#

Hmm, then i suggest resetting windows only if it’s not a big issue for you, otherwise you need to keep finding a way to change the driver type to the normal one

tardy estuary
#

I totally blame this on windows… it worked fine like 1 month or so ago…

tardy estuary
#

Like @vital cosmos suggested. This fixed my problem.
I just didnt saw the driver he suggested first. Installing it on one of the two "USB-devices" (The one which allows it. The other device only allows some audio drivers) fixed the problem

#

btw THX to @undone zodiac and @hybrid charm for the help really appreciate it

i just didnt connected the controller for like 2 months or so to my pc... updated windows etc... and now windows used some other drivers for it ? cant explain why it used a different driver...

You used Zadig or similar to swap the drivers on your edge. This doesn't magically happen out of the blue. The fix would have been easy: read the Zadig Wiki or whatever tool you used to fiddle with things you didn't understand 😉

#

Libwdi doesn't magically replace drivers randomly on its own, never has, never will

#

If you use advanced software better have a good backup to undo 😉

#

Gave me the idea to add detection feature to a new tool of mine KEKW

Yeah daidr is more a specific diagnostic tool towards a specific product already rather than what I envisioned

#

Ofc. its logic could be copied from WebHID over to C++ but what for....

hollow socket
#

Well offline testing ofc 😉

#

But not worth the effort anyway

carmine falcon
#

I mean it depends on how the site is coded, you can make PWAs that are offline-runnable

#

Since WebHID is a client-side "offline" interface anyway

#

If the web app is pure JS or WASM, so all runs client-side it technically doesn't need an Internet connection

hollow socket
#

Indeed, or one could cache the page anyway

carmine falcon
#

If all the assets come from the same location, then just "downloading" the page and all its assets could be enough

#

JS, CSS, Media etc.

#

I guess besides keeping the code up to date, the only calls are for his skin detection db

carmine falcon
#

The entire thing is one HTML file with the JS logic embedded in it

# carmine falcon You used Zadig or similar to swap the drivers on your edge. This doesn't magical...

Well yeah like i already mentioned. I didnt used the edge controller for like 2 months or so on my PC. And it worked before that. But i had problems with it while i first tried to use it on my pc also. Similar problem to which caused DSX to not detect it. I just wanted to calibrate my Edge sticks on the site https://dualshock-tools.github.io/

In the past i tried to use a DualShock 4 on my PC and i remember it also didnt worked from the start... And i had drivers installed from this site https://ds4-windows.com/drivers/

Download DS4 Windows Driver for the DualShock 4 and DualSense 5 Controller. Complete required DS4 driver list.

#

So maybe these caused the Edge to not be detected as it should have. But i didnt intentionally changed drivers for it. Why even ?

# carmine falcon 2nd link is literally a scam site so sorry but I do not believe you that this ju...

No seriously I didn’t change the driver. Like I said before DSX detected the controller just fine and I used it. Why should I change the drivers for the controller in the first place? This accusation doesn’t make sense to me. Also deleting the controller and connecting it again to windows will always install the driver I posted in the screen… It’s not like I manually select a wrong driver for it….
