#PROBLEM WITH DRIVER

Download and run the setup manually and provide its log on the last page of the setup wizard
And no need to ping, we have eyes on our own 😉
This
Run it outside of DSX

Attach the log file here, not random snippets
Also try to turn off Smart App Control, it has shown in the past that it fcks up the setup
turned it off a long time ago
Are you sure it's not on again, double check, that was literally the problem for like 10 other folks
Yes, I'm absolutely sure it's disabled. I checked three times. The situation is that I manually uninstalled the driver, and then the DSX, well, I cleared everything, and I've been trying to download it for three hours now, and nothing's happening.
I uninstalled it through Device Manager.
Then I can't help you, something on your PC is interfering with a setup that works just fine on hundreds of thousands of machines
There is no need to fiddle anything manually in device manager, setup takes care of everything, all you can do is make things worse
Damn, can anyone tell me somehow? I'm in a stalemate. Any information will help me or what I need to do.
As I said, anti virus nonsense is my 1st guess, 2nd guess is damaged Windows installation
I think I made it worse by deleting the driver through the device manager.
Which one exactly
You can't just randomly remove drivers the same way, you can brick your system by doing that
That's why setups exist
USB driver
Well that probably has nothing to do with it then anyway
I don't remember exactly what I deleted, but I went to the USB tab in Device Manager and deleted the Nefarius USB driver.
Well always a good start not remembering what you did to your PC 😉
Try some guides on how to check if Windows is healthy and not corrupted and then try it again
'm in deep shit
@potent harness try those https://www.howtogeek.com/222532/how-to-repair-corrupted-windows-system-files-with-the-sfc-and-dism-commands/
Until Try a System Restore or System Reset Next, do not do that, that would be destructive
oke
i deleted this Nefarius Virtual Gamepad Emulation Bus G2
I just now remembered that I deleted this.
It has no negative consequences (apart from DSX not working, d'uh) if you do that so that is unrelated
Okay, now it's easier, so it's most likely a Windows problem.
The program helped find the damaged files and restored them. Now what should we do? Download the driver manually?
Didn't you have it downloaded already?
The .msi? Did you delete it or why would you need to download it again?
Answer my questions; did you or did you not download the .msi file?
I don't quite understand, could you please explain in more detail what "msi" means? Forgive my stupidity.
When you click "Download Secondary Server" it offers you to download a file, does it not?
View Log, paste file here
This looks like it is installed though, have you tried "Remove"?
We can't know that if you don't tell us 🙂
@potent harness Try this
I did all the checks and said that everything was intact and there was no damage.
Follow this https://superuser.com/a/1240643
When done, run the MSI file u downaloaded and go through it again
Yeah I am out of ideas, you may need to reinstall Windows at this point
Now the driver itself doesn't want to download.
WDYM you literally posted a log from the setup you downloaded already
Aynway, good luck, nothing I can do here
Listen, maybe you can transfer the driver. I'm doing all this on my wife's laptop. I have a computer next to me and everything works fine there. I also bought a DSX.
I do not understand what you are posting, since you could run the setup you clearly could download it, nothing makes sense
So one has nothing to do with the other
"downloading" has nothing to do with this error
I don't know what the hell this is, but I gave up too. My wife just reinstalled the program on Steam and it all WORKED SOMEHOW. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW.
So.... all good now?
yep
