#Haptics tab none of the features working

that Haptic Feedback Mode you have in red only works when connected by wire. for bluetooth haptics stuff, use the bluetooth section to the right of that
it is normal for the dualsense speakers to be inaccessible while DSX is running unless you have the controller plugged in and DSX set to Native Mode. soon Dualsense Emulation will include the speaker, but that's in closed beta rn
yeah i know that thing im already connected it with wire i tried type c to type (default iphone charger cable) and my usb a to type c cable that i used with my old pc which was working with these features i thought issue was cable but its not
hmm
and its on native mode i tested other emulations too...
it didn't work in the other ones either?
yeah sadly
i have a application which is factory installed on my computer called nahimic
but i dont think this is the issue
ohh
what happens if you leave it enabled, turn on one of the emulation modes, and then test the haptics?
lemme test it
sadly same
i saw one person has the same issue on reddit page of dsx
my adaptive triggers and all other type of stuff working
too
can you open this website, press some buttons, and send a screenshot? https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad
Displays info about all gamepads connected to your computer. Check buttons, joystick axes, drift, vibration, and more. Works with all controllers and joysticks in a modern browser.
is that in native mode?
yeah
can you close your browser, pick an emulation mode, and then open thate site and try again?
okay that looks right
mm what happens if you set the latency up to 20? in the haptics settings?
still same
very weird
is there any log file about it that i can send to you
i know how hard is it to solve things without knowing the issue :D
maybe it can help
you can send your DSX logs, there's a tab in the app that shows them, but idk if it would have the relevant info. but it's worth sending!
i thought it was only audio to haptics that is not working but the whole tab is not working idk if it will help but
@drifting helm some loggies to look at. tap2k is havin trouble getting any of the wired haptics presets to work. as far as i can tell, hidhide is working properly and the haptics aren't working in any of the emulation modes or native mode. they tried two different cables. the logs show some errors but idk what they mean
thanks man its not a big deal its working in games like uncharted while dsx closed but i want it working its irritating me
This seems like it could be a few things :
- Make sure your Dualsense Audio is enabled in DSX My Controller tab : General Settings - Audio ; without the proper settings there, DSX will forcibly disable the audio of the controller making those "red" feature settings not work at all
- Once that's assured, all modes should work besides maybe Rumble-to-Haptics and Audio-to-Haptics ; if the first one isn't working, it could be that Rumble Passthrough for your emulation mode isn't enabled (or just that there is no rumble being sent to the virtual controller) ; if the second one isn't working, maybe try to not use Nahimic and be direct to your Audio output device without such software processing and select the relevant output in DSX to pick and route as Haptics and or Speaker/Headset audio for the DS
@toxic garnet
@toxic garnet @west wind I had the same Problem but got a fix.
My fix was re-enabling the Audio-Output of the Dualsense Controller in Windows Sound settings.
I disabled it initially, because the Controller wanted to be the Primary/Standard Audio source (for both Sound and Mic), but you can also change the "Primary/Standard" to whatever you want, so do that instead (if you don't want the Controller to be the main Speaker/Mic of your System).
After that, my Haptic Feedback Modus worked as it should.
Expectedly so, users should rather choose to set the Dualsense Audio device as Default for Communications only in order to avoid it being set as all around default when re-plugging it
Windows quirky behavior and settings at fault tho 😢
Yeah I know. That should be declared imo - maybe in the Haptic Feedback Mode section as a hint or something.
I enabled Audio only and not as a standard, because I have a dedicated Audio Interface with a Mic connected, so the Speaker and Mic from the Controller are useless to me (speaker for the most part, but some cool features are there to have fun with)
Agreed, but besides a warning, a better solution would be to monitor the status of the DS as an Audio device in Windows Settings but this needs looking into in order to figure out how to do it and allow DSX to change this for the user. I've brought it up to the dev team a little while back, it's considered.
Yes 100% (and thanks @placid girder).
Anyway, I hope @toxic garnet got a working fix and @west wind got some knowledge i guess 😅
@remote plover thanks for the fix it worked man also thanks for your help guys @west wind @placid girder
hmm
