  1. Brief Description:

After updating to version 3.1.5.3, the Gyroscope to Right Stick simulation is broken. It was working perfectly in the previous version, but now it is unusable for FPS games.

2. Detailed Explanation:
I use Gyro aiming for First Person Shooters by simulating the Right Stick. Since the update:

Jitter: The aim is super jittery and registers random movements that are not there.
Input Recognition Issues: When I try to tilt the controller down (to control recoil), the software does not interpret the movement correctly.

It feels like the smoothing or sensitivity calibration has completely changed or broken in this update.
3. Platform and Setup:
DSX Version: v3.1.5.3

Connection: Bluetooth
Emulation Type: Gyro to Right Stick
4. Additional Information:
This issue started immediately after the update today.

Motion to mouse is working perfectly fine

#

But I want motion to right joystick

#

Both of my profiles for motion to right stick are broken.

One I have set up for Rematch the other Battlefield 6

I disabled right joystick by editing dead zone and it still was broken and glitchy

#

So it's jumpy and Skippy and glitchy now that I have roll enabled

#

It's gotta be the 3.1.5.3 update

#

It's every game for me. Like it's reading the gyro wrong

#

I'm 3 kd with gyro 1.5 without

#

there was an update to the gyro this update ya

Same problem here, tested in Battlefield 6 and Stalker 2 with two Dualsense controllers.
All dead zones set to 0, worked perfectly for months until this update. I've also eliminated all potential Bluetooth interference sources and can rule that out for now. Wired seems to work better, but still feels strange.
I haven't tested it further and have switched to Steam Input's gyro, but it feels completely different.
I hope this get fixed soon, i'am lost without gyro in shooter games.

I need your profiles

LMAO I didn't notice I had that song playing that's so funny

#

I will send a profile in a bit

#

I will delete it cuz it's wacky, mb for not noticing e_dead

I noticed some strange behavior in raw input: in virtual raw input the stick thats driven by the gyro and the acceleration input jumps like crazy

#

Is there any possibility to calibrate the Gyro?

placid olive
#

Calibrating the Gyro is already possible

#

But it's not what you're thinking of

glass acorn
placid olive
#

It does

#

It's needed for it

#

"Calibration" is just taking a snapshot of current coordinates to consider them the "neutral/rest" position

#

What Holle is likely thinking about is modifying how movements reacts beyond what is already available

glass acorn
placid olive
#

But this is not possible as it's hardcoded logic only user exposed sliders can alter some parameters of

placid olive
#

Just a quirk of how that stuff works, or an overly sensitive logic for the GUI to display values out of

glass acorn
#

Idk if that always happened or not cuz I never looked

placid olive
#

It always has indeed

#

Not that it should though

#

Cuz we want smooth translations of movement into stick values

#

But it's a more complex logic to implement than the to-mouse one iirc

How can i revert back to old update?

#

I payed money for this because this has perfect gyro working out the box

#

Now Gyro is broken. So DSX is literally pointless for me

After a few challenging hours in ARC with steam-gyro, which is quite disappointing, I conducted some quick testing.
With a wired connection, the gyro to stick functions well and feels excellent as usual.
In wireless mode, gyro to mouse works, but gyro to stick does not. It jumps in large increments, which can also be seen in the virtual raw inputs off the stick.

@unkempt jetty mayne a wired connection is a option for you until the Problem is solved?

@sage swan Please let me know if I can help in any way.

good idea to check. maybe it's like a connection stability and speed thing

You'll have to check in the next update. I think I've fixed these issues.

Perhaps we can also help test the new gyroscope function; we're professionals at using gyroscopes to play FPS games.@sage swan dsxCatLaugh

I would like Motion users to let know who is willing to test changes by dantes. I can make private build and share instructions on how to manually update your DSX version. If you're interested, please let me know!
