#Double input problem.

I installed dsx and hidhide (after some problems, I'm the guy that had toruble with the hidhide config and dsx not recognizing it, I created a post about a week ago). I created multiple profiles to test and did tests with both dsx controlling hidhide and disabling the device myself via hidhide config tool. When i use the native mode it works fine but when i emulate a device (xbox 360, dualsense, it does not make a difference) some games do not recognize the controller unless i press the double input fix button and sometimes gamebar still skips every press and considers it like two and the issue does not resolve itself. This is a bit frustrating, it's been a week but i'm still having problems and cannot use the dualsense with dsx and had to resort to using steaminput for the time being and cannot play some xbox app games since dsx is not working. I need some suggestions please.

Short answer is just keep on using fix double input

#

Xbox app have peculiar hooks thus games have quirky behaviors

#

Inconvenient sure, but easy and quick

#

ok thanks, i will try and hopefully it works

I did all of the steps above but the controller keeps having double inputs

woeful oasis
#

GameBar gives you double input but website only sees one controller

#

It's a problem with gamebar hooking the real controller regardless

grave walrus
#

Also when I press double inputs fix it works for a few minutes

#

Then it comes back

woeful oasis
#

In which context does it work for a few minutes ?

#

Doesn't make much sense tbh

grave walrus
#

Games, steam big picture, game bar

#

Honestly it’s really strange

#

Other than installing the software and using the virtual controller I have not set anything else so I don’t think I “broke” the software

woeful oasis
#

During the whole events, do you switch emulation modes ?

grave walrus
#

actually sometimes it boots straigh into native mode so i switch to xbox emulation yes. But when it boots into xbox emulation instead the leds gets stuck, so maybe the profile gets stuck?

#

I tried creating a new profiel

#

the problem presents in both cases

woeful oasis
#

You gotta know what happens when and in which circumstances to be even remotely sure of what is happening

#

Cause anything already running will be able to hook on your physical controller in native mode

grave walrus
#

the problem of double inputs is present in both cases, when the controller turn on directly into xbox emulation (the leds get stuck) and when booting into native mode and then switching

#

I don't know if maybe i'm doing something wrong, what should i check?

woeful oasis
#

And upon reconnections (not using Fix Double Input I mean), they will also have the time to hook before DSX creates a virtual Xbox controller and hides the physical

#

Controller doesn't turn on directly into xbox emulation

#

It turns on, gets detected by all capable applications, then DSX creates a virtual Xbox

grave walrus
#

in the profile

woeful oasis
#

I understand

#

But that means that anything already running will hook on the physical controller and only fix double input has a chance of working to workaround that caveat

grave walrus
#

ah ok now i understand what you're saying

#

but the problem then is that even after using fix double input it should not happen again

#

unless switching controller emulation right?

woeful oasis
#

Now what I want to understand is what is the sequence of events when it only works for a few minutes for you

woeful oasis
#

So please describe accurately so we may figure it out

#

It can't be anymore

grave walrus
#

i used legacinator

woeful oasis
#

This has been removed a while back from the available choices DSX can show to users

grave walrus
#

i don't know, but the test said that all was good

#

no problem, i appreciate the time and help, every opinion counts

#

ok i noticed that the controller disconnects itself and then reconnects, then i hav edouble input, so maube when the controller reboots double input fix cannot detect it and i have to press it again.

woeful oasis
#

Noticed you were using a cable, it's likely bad (as in unreliably faulty)

#

Just use BT

grave walrus
#

So the problem is that it's desconnecting, before that happened even when switching emulation devices and native mode i had no double inputs, it only happende after the controller disconnected

woeful oasis
#

Which makes total sense and is expected since there's nothing we can do against that besides using Fix Double Input

grave walrus
grave walrus
#

ok at least now i know what's happening

woeful oasis
#

Just get a better cable is my actual advice

#

Yours is most likely messed up

grave walrus
#

it's a bit loose yeah

#

thanks for your time!. Do you know if maybe there's a way to map the fix double input command on the controller? That would be extremely useful without having to exit the game and go into dsx

#

Maybe i can add it as a suggestion somewhere?

woeful oasis
#

There is not

#

Nah, I doubt it will be ever considered tbh

woeful oasis
#

This should be a one time use that doesn't make sense being mapped to any button/combo

grave walrus
#

thanks again !

woeful oasis
#

You're welcome, and good luck ! I'll mark it as solved but feel free to reply here again if using BT doesn't work continuously - which would be very unlikely tbh

grave walrus
#

okay

i have the same problem. Previous dsx version im able to play certain game like spyro without need to click fix double double input function.

The problem is that if a game or program is communicating with the physical controller, HidHide is unable to hide it. What fix double input does, is restart the controller so that those games/apps no longer see it and when it reconnects it becomes hidden.
