#Dpad Double Inputs?

The usual causes for double inputs are :

  • Either you plugged/connected your controller whilst in game so DSX has no time to instruct HidHide to hide the controller on virtual device creation so the game keeps a hook on the physical controller then it takes inputs from both the physical and the virtuak controllers
  • Or HidHide isn't configured properly and doesn't hide the physical controller at all when it should, resulting in the same consequences as the first pont
#

In Virtual Device Options you have a "Fix Double Input" button though, you could use this to try to have only the virtual one be seen by the game (not a silver bullet but works more often than not)

#

GamePass doesn't mean no Dualsense support necessarily

#

Yeah unfortunately some Gamepass games don't get DS(4) support, thankfully not all of them though

#

Well pressing right then having a left registered is beyond a potential double input issue, that's just weird

#

Actually if the physical shouldn't be able to have this happen, then the virtual wouldn't either

#

Well that sounds like a weird game issue

#

i hope that's all it was!

mm... in DSX there's a thing where you can toggle between seeing the physical inputs and the virtual inputs. maybe you could see if you can notice a difference between physical and virtual when it's happening?

this website has a history feature but it seems like it adds inputs like per frame or something so it might be hard to tell. but you could maybe disable hidhide and then compare the histories of both the physical and virtual controller https://gpadtester.com/

#

but it will be hard

#

i'm not sure if it will work either cuz it might like... it might just be checking if the button is being pressed and not how many "times" it's being pressed

#

you gotta click the arrow to see it

#

but i don't think it shows button presses

#

it's for stuff coming into the controller, not going out of it

#

so like haptics, rumble, adaptive trigger stuff

tight ridge
#

Dang

tight ridge
#

could be ya. mine gets squeaky sometimes but i found some synthetic lube in my basement that works good to make it stop. i just get a little on a needle and rub the needle between the buttons and the shell

#

ya it is kinda lame. mine started squeaking within like a week or two

#

the x button is very squeaky

#

but the lube makes it stop for a couple months

#

edge

jolly peak
#

that black edge right?

tight ridge
#

damn wtf

#

mine doesn't have any of that flex

jolly peak
#

what is the time diffrence beetween when you and him brought the controler?
that will edxplain it

#

damn the chances

#

why wont you take it to a tecnistionj

#

how its 220 its was 200 the price

#

mm maybe that why i paid 100 BUCKS

#

how you had moeny to buy 4 controlers LOL

tight ridge
#

maybe it is normal then

jolly peak
#

you reduced the price cuse its was used right?

tight ridge
#

the part that is the most different from mine is the back plate, mine doesn't flex like that

jolly peak
#

sad to see such poor matiral quialty for a sony first party contorlker

tight ridge
#

yours looks like it has a gap between the plastic and the battery that you can push into, mine it is quite solid and i can barely move it

jolly peak
#

nice how its supuse to hbe

tight ridge
#

ya

#

unless it is causing the dpad issue i would say it's probably fine

#

i would trade you haha cuz that wouldn't bother me

#

but it's weird ig

jolly peak
#

you even from the same contry?

tight ridge
#

for me i feel very happy with the quality of mine, but i probably have lower standards for it

#

but mine feels very solid and sturdy

tight ridge
#

it's dumb that i have already had to put lube on my buttons twice in 5 months

#

the X button gets really squeaky and it hurts my tism brain

jolly peak
#

i whouldnt be able to bare it

#

what is tism btw?

tight ridge
jolly peak
#

got it too LOL and comuniaction disorder
soo good to dont be alone

tight ridge
#

some sounds really make my brain itch, like the dirt sounds in stardew valley, chalk on a chalkboard, and the squeaky X button on my controller

jolly peak
#

its a bad thing right?

tight ridge
#

ya it feels bad

jolly peak
#

cuse itch in the break can mean allso somth good

#

for example i had a big itch to use a controler

tight ridge
jolly peak
#

yea i understood

tight ridge
#

did you have the dpad double input problem on multiple edges? i can't remember

#

also have you only noticed it for this game, or has it happened elsewhere?

something i learned a couple weeks ago is that God of War has a bug where if you're using a playstation controller over bluetooth, the game will sometimes see double inputs, with an increasing rate of double inputs at higher framerates. it was something to do with how it handled inputs per frame or something

#

ya i get that a bit too, i think it's just cuz they're kinda rubbery. the lube helped some with that noise

#

what game is it?

#

anyway something to maybe try is playing wired or capping the framerate. if there's a difference it could possibly be something similar to god of war's problem

#

get some super lube peepoHappy

tight ridge
#

i hope it works!

tight ridge
#

maybe ya. idk i never thought about it ig

#

for me the only part that feels cheap and flexible is the front plate thing

#

i worry about it haha

tight ridge
#

idk if you care but that link has your full name on it

#

ya that is weird. mine ain't like that

#

ya it could be yours are the normal ones and mine is the weird one

tight ridge
#

yours was missing a screw or you mean there's no place for it?

tight ridge
#

seems good!

#

let's gooo

#

maybe ya

tight ridge
#

super lube!

tight ridge
#

tbh i would guess it's not a quality issue it's just a result of the d-pad being rubbery

tight ridge
#

You got a new one?
