#DSX Keeps Dropping PS5 Controller Connection
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I have absolutely no problem when I'm not running DSX, I've ran diagnostics on my bluetooth and nothing could be found.
I've also checked the antennas, they are connected properly
Can you share your DSX Logs please ? Also which DSX version are you running ? If not 3.1 Beta, please update to it and check again
I just updated to 3.1 beta, it's disconnected once so far
Hopefully it'll make a difference
Nvm
Disconnected again
Can you please share your DSX Logs ?

I think these lines keep repeating
Thanks, hopefully @maiden musk has an idea
I think controller is not charged up
The controllers are usually 80-100% charged
That's what DSX displays?
Yes
does it disconnect instantly?
I have it set to 15 minutes
The default
I mean this type of error is coming from windows
so hard to say what the problem is exactly
Does your PC have the BT/WIFI antena thing or are you using a BT dongle?
It has an antenna
Connected properly?
Do you have other devices connected to PC via BT?
My keyboard and mouse
Can you go to My Controller Page, and send a screenshot of device info?
hmm, very weird
Polling rate is a bit low
but shouldn't be an issue
Have you tried troubleshooting BT on your PC? Is there same behavior for KB/M?
I tried, it found nothing
Maybe a problem with my game's native control?
I've just had the controller on and connected to dsx atm, haven't synced it up to my game yet
It is possible. When you're not gaming, does it stay connected for a long time?
That's what I'm testing right now
The led color keeps changing back to the default one every now and then though which is a bit concerning
Yeah if it stays connected for at least 30 mins no issues, and then you start gaming, and then disconnect, very possible could be the game having an issue
Depends on your setup with DSX, and if other games/programs can see your physical controller which they can also send data to it and overlap with DSX
Okay, so when I have the controller on dsx with native control, I can't do anything in game
But if I change it to emulation, the controller works in the game
somethin to try is messing with this site and see what it shows. like in native mode does it show any controller? in an emulation mode does it show two controllers? https://gpadtester.com/
usually i use this one https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad but i think it's down or smth rn. i think the first one should still work okay
Test your controller online with our free Gamepad Tester! Run PS5, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox Series Controller tests, stick drift tests, joystick tests, button tests, controller vibration and microphone tests — online, no download needed. Supports DualSense and DualShock controllers.
One message that keeps popping up but disappearing from the logs is
Failed to read Input Reports while device is still connected.
"DualSense Wireless Controller" | "88034CC1B6E8" | Connection: BLUETOOTH | Emulation: "DUALSENSE"
I used the first link and got my controller connected as gamepad #3 and #4, but only #4 registers inputs, and it disconnects after a while.
What's in the first two? Other controllers?
Nothing
I actually tried connecting again and now it's connected to gamepad #1 and #2
But only gamepad #2 functions
With just one controller connected right?
maybe should try in the virtual controller options the Fix Double Input button?
Now it's not functioning at all
theoretically it should only show one controller in the tester
so if it is showing two that is a sign of trouble
I tried to toggle the controller on hidhide and now inputs won't go through
did you find the fix double input button?
Trying
But gpad won't even pick up the connection anymore
Wait it picked up
The double input came back
mm so open the profile editor section in DSX and then look for this in the virtual device options
I tried that
From this, does seem like a double input is the problem
ya, it seems like apps are seeing two controllers
Is HidHide supposed to automatically close one?
it's supposed to make sure that apps can't see the real controller and only the virtual
maybe you could try reinstalling hidhide or smth

Okay, now I'm certain that the issue is multiple inputs
Right now, I have to close DSX, reopen, click on the fix double input, and then change the type of controller emulation to get it to stay connected
I’ve noticed that manually opening HidHide each time I connect my controller prevents it from disconnecting, but that defeats the purpose of it automatically hiding the controller in the first place.
I deleted everything and redownloaded. Haven't had an issue yet!
