And seeing how the F-20 and Bison are being retired after this promotion, I got both for half price. Figured It's about time I started grinding another tech tree, and I suppose Britain is also going to get an F-35 at some point.
But the F-20 is some of the most fun I've had in ARB lately. Four Mavericks and the GPU-5 30mm cannon is my
go-to loadout. It's like the F-5E FCU on meth. The 9Ls aren't great, the 7Fs suck, but the airframe is awesome, and the gunpod makes for good high aspect gun kills on unsuspecting Mirages or Falcons that decide to turn fight me. One circle fighting in the F-20 is INSANELY cracked.
Unfortunately, the RWR is the same as the Phantom's ALR-46 at 11.3, so your Situational Awareness is nigh to none. The 2.5 MILLION RP requirement for Ace Crew is also tearing my ass up, but each good match I play I get around 5-10k RP, so I'll get there eventually. It's a good grinder, probably not as good as the F18C Early with its 6x 7P Sparrows (which badly need upped in BR, same with Mirage F1's Magic IIs) but it's good for what I like to do with it, which is strafe the entire front line of SPAA and Howies, and use the mavs for the pillboxes.
The AIM-7Ps are discount 120s, and they should probably be at 13.0 instead of 12.7
Too bad the matchmaker slots premiums like the F-4S and F-20 in full uptiers or 13.0 matches.

At least for the J-20 and F-22, the only thing they got going for them that could make them good in war thunder specifically is speed and reduced radar detection range
but we have no idea how they'll balance the detection range
if they make it so most aircraft can spot a 5th within 10-12 miles then tbh I dont think it would be that bad since most engagements happen at that range
if you die to missiles fired beyond that then it's sorta on you
