paintings would be ideal, at the end of the hallway - you should put a little table with a plant on top. I think when you have coloured this in, a suitable wallpaper would be great to add

Through background you can tell a story, seems like it's a character who lives with their dad, do they have anymore family? Maybe instead of a painting, could be a family photo?
Maybe some drawers with pictures of a relative or an animal or paintings
Also if no window, where does the light come from?
