#What is the most overrated Pokemon game and why?

gen 4, i just dont get it. i dont like any of the starters and i think the dex is boring. the only version of it i played was shining pearl and it was just a “turn my brain off and press A” type of game for me
Hmm, that’s fair. The remakes were pretty bad. But I think most people gush about platinum. I do at least. Platinum fixed the story issues and the mechanic issues of diamond and had smarter AI, making it harder. It also had the distortion world which was a very fun and unique experience. Also, the platinum of the remakes, arceus, is fantastic and really broke the formula of a pokemon game.
yeah ive heard good things about platinum, unfortunately i dont have it i only have pearl for the DS
i also heard legends arceus had a really good narrative and evolved gameplay but i never picked it up because i couldnt get past how low quality the game looked
yeah it did. The game looks a bit funny at times but it's competent. Honestly. It can look pretty at times too. Honestly everything else surpasses it to me. Like i've played 8 bit games no problem. I get it though, other triple A games have looked better,
it was the way they used the color white and the shadows/lighting that put me off. i dont like how they used pure white because its not natural and honestly hurts my eyes. and i dont know why pokemon still has an issue with choppy shadows
and on some points of the models it looks like they forgot to press the smooth key 😭 you can really see it around the eyes
Idk, looks fine to me. Textures could use some work and the shadows are janky but it’s competent enough. It took them a while to get 3D right on the DS and it’s an improvement on Gen 8 at least
Yeah that’s true
But catching pokemon is so goddamn fun in that game
The mechanics are totally different than random encounters. I like the challenge of Pokémon having the chance to kill you or run away for good. And not just super rare pokemon or mythicals.
