Hello! I've been reading through the core rules and Libers this week, and I've put together a list for my first 3000 point collection. I'd like an opinion on this list and receive advice for it.
This is a rough draft, and I currently just own the Mechanicum battle force and a few of the tech priests (using some of the 40k models for those), so scrapping certain units in favor of others is doable. Thank you for taking a look in advance.

so I can't really speak to the imortal squad because I don't know what they actually do but as for the mech units:

  1. the Archmagi's rad furnance will effect the Myrmidons (i'm assuming he's joining them) and myrmidons already aren't great at melee
    2.you have an unused Prime troop slot in the primary detachment
  2. I would recommend potentially dropping two of the flamers on the castellax brick
  3. the Krios Venator is good into terminators
    5.I would recomend running a single weapon across the entire Myrmidon destructor host instead of mixxed weapons since you can't split fire and the Volkite and Irad myrmidons will want different targets than the Darkfire cannons

I agree with the Castellaxes, you usually want half of the unit to be blade + flamer, the other half stock

#

You generally do want mono-typed weapons with Myrmidons and Thallax

  1. I've dropped the Rad Furnance, taking Fury of Ages and a Nuncio-Vox
  2. What would you suggest for the Prime? Combat Veterans doesn't seem bad to pass Checks better. Master Sgt on the Reductor tech priest would be funny
  3. That does take up 40 pts. Initially wanted them as a counter to charges, but that's still a lot of shots with bolters
  4. Neat!! Initially thought to take them for anti tank, but termies are pretty tough too.
  5. I'll just run vokite and irad then. How many would you recommend running?

I generally take a brick of 10, with 6 stock, 4 with flamer + blade

Imma gonna have to print some more robots

The blades are basically there for emergencies, so you don’t auto fail melee if you whiff the chargers, since blades are AP3

#

Very needed on a scoring brick like Castellaxes

Castellax are really the only unit we want to take mixed weapons in, Myrmidon secutors are sort of kind of a good idea with a grav or two in a unit of plasma

But ye, Castellaxes should be basically half and half between flamer + blade guys and charger + bolter guys

Ahh so really blades/flamers are better, but stock is just cheaper.

Definitely had a magos with them, but I hadn't picked up the combat vets etc

Ok so if I have the points all blades, but still the combo of ranged shoot

I put flamer + blade on the same models so it takes more kills from the enemy to take out the point upgrades, and because it’s easier for me to see the blades on the table than it is to see flamers

I would rather use the points from making the whole unit blades to get specials elsewhere or to put better gear on priests

Question on my myrmidons - if Darkfires ideal on them atm, should I target vehicles/terminators with them? I initially planned on making them anti infantry to contest objectives

#

For leaders, my current idea is:
Archmagos -> Myrmidons
Cybernetica Magos -> Castellax
Reductor Magos -> Thallax 1
Cybernetica TP -> Thanatar
Reductor TP -> Thallax 2

#

Should I have magi/priests on my Thallax? They move 4in faster, I feel like they'd just hold them back

curently yeah Priests just hold Thallax back, Deactiate Limiters has enough range that a reductor priest can still buff them, Debatable how worth while that is, without slowing them down

I could drop them. Frees up 195pts, room to beef up the castellax squad or add something else

#

Alternatively, I could make one a Macrotek

#

Deactivite Limiters has 24in range but it'd probably hold them back. I could try to fit a cheap unit to protect a priest, maybe thralls?

#

Only issue is I'd need another detachment... checking if the Reductor magos could lead the IH tac squad
