Hey guys
My friend group has started trying out heresy, dipping toes into different factions to try everything out. This was my first attempt at a IW HoO list with Perty (we’ve been trying out the primarches so I’m pretty set on keeping him in).
HoO seems to focus on 2 aspects, a bunch of infantry shootin’ shrap and some tanks. The idea with this list is the Warsmith+Iron Circle as well as the Perty + Command Squad Land Raider head in while my fat Tac squads with Apothecaries advance up and control points. The tanks and Levi provide fire support.

I'm not entirely sure if the list has the punch that I want, nor am I sure the loadouts are correct. I opted for Command Squad as a retinue since they give line and Iron Circle are too expensive to have as retinue in 3k

If you want him to be in a proteus land raider, you'll have to take 3 teminators instead of 5 for the command squad

whats the benefit of artificier armor for tac squads? its just for the sargeant right, i've seen lots of people putting it on but never understood why

My problem with Iron Circle is they're supposed to be analogus to Contemptors, but they're not WS5 and they don't have a 2+ save

If you are cutting the iron circle for Dominators, you can also cut the Praetor for a herald or chaplain

Dominators are good, but that comes from how cheap they are

They're not going to regularly beat Varagyr or Knights Cenobium

Something like a deredeo or 2 scorpius tanks are what I prefer to kill terminators

Personally I prefer 15 man tac squads over 20. I find 20 very unwieldy. If you do so, you can pick up a nemesis bolter recon squads

Best bang for your buck anti elite is probably the contemptor, but plasma is good too. Anything with breaching or rending and/or more than 8 strength will do the job

I think 3 preds in a squadron is overkill. They're great but you're gonna have a hard time moving them around in cohesion

I'd go with 2 max and get a lascannon javelin instead. Great value for the points and it's fast attack so you're rarely gonna fight for the slot

i agree that sabres prob fit better lol but javs are better

I've run both. I love my sabres but they only really shine if you're opponent is taking sicarans, preds, light vehicles etc. amazing at screwing over casemate vehicles like vindicator or venators that have weak sides and have to pivot to fire. I use them a lot with iron Fire. Being able to bomb 32inches down the board really shocks people. You can use it to tactically block avenues

Although they do, do work into dreads. They have a rough time into land raiders which proliferate most lists

I haven't tried the neutron sabres but those would pretty good anti elite I think

Plasma blaster is over costed. I'd stick with a gravis melta and pfist. Get a melta gun if you have the points
