I know, drop pods in pride, weird and most likely not able to do anything, but I wanted some thoughts, changes I could/should make, etc

I wanna use drop pods, but I want line vets

Not keen on the javelin though, willing to remove units too in case there’s something else I should grab

So the pods wont turn up till T2, and will have to roll

Honest suggestion - Drop the Pride, take DPA. Then take two Herald Consuls

maybe take something that's able to pin the ennemy heavy hitters so that you don't get intercepted to death ?

There's not enough points at 2k, all that's on the field t1 is gonna be the rapiers and the javelin. Maybe force nightfight, take pure snipers?

Agreed on just going DPA. You’re too committed to the pods so have the drawbacks but not able to enjoy any of the benefits of DPA

There’s a real chance of just getting tabled before your army comes in

Drop pods only have a capacity of 10 though, meaning I need the odd 9 dudes for my vet squads

Yup, but the Heralds are still consul stats so make up for a missing lad

You would also cause fear and be fearless

Atm I think most games you get tabled before you play

I’m trying to do 2k points, I want to do lots of drop pods because drop pods are the only way to go

Just for context I've run dpa myself in events so I do speak from experience not mathhammer

A dreadclaw for the leviathan is easy use of 10 points

If you want unique, a heavy flamer Squad is rare and good

Or melta supports

I've run this in my WE DPA. It's legit.

Only time I've run melta tss is in dpa because its the only list with thr speed and threat saturation to make them viable
