#1k EC noob list

Hey everyone! Here’s my very first attempt at a III Legion beginner list, which for now is made of of models I’ve acquired in a somewhat haphazard way from friends and things I can acquire/convert pretty easily. Is this at all passable for beginner/casual games as well as a force to be built into something bigger later? Thanks!

so this list doesnt really have a ton of punch

now thats not terrible, as 1k gets weird with most of this game desgined around 2k+ but youre gonna be relying on your contemptor to sweep through most of their army

also 9 kakophoni just kill themselves, ive found a lot more sucess with smaller squads, with my go to being 2 6 mans with a sub-sonic pulsar, threating night fighting every game to get some pretty reliable pinnings off

I'm partial to las vindicators over the cannon, but just in this microcosm its your only reliable terminator plinker (threating them rolling 1s on 3 dice per) so I like it

and sun killers at 1k with lascannons are just bonkers

Never mind, sun killers are to expensive to fit in anyways

Sun Killers are expensive and get a lot for it, but at this point cost a las HSS will more than likely suffice. It'll be a balancing act between heavy hits for armor vs volume hits for larger units, but at 1k you'll typically find either / or rather than both.

Hm, that would do well for clearing out the character add-ons you may see. You'd have less blob removal if somebody was running larger infantry blocks at that level, but you're also more likely facing incomplete AoD boxes at that size so it's probably not an issue.

Snipers are generally strong options though. As are lascannons. So that would seem like a decent starting point.

Awesome. The lasboys are definitely something I’d like to add moving forward, the sunkillers seem like both a good and fluffy unit which is exactly what I’m looking for

I’m really just looking for a list that will do alright in casual low-point games to get me acquainted with the rules, then move into bigger stuff once the rules for daemons and cultists come out bc I’d love to include some of them
