So, normally I'm an Imperial fist. I know the ins and outs of a bolter and a fortification. I love my primarch, I love my company.
But today? Today we commit a little heresy, and since I'm not typically an EC player, I need pointers to whether or not I balanced the dakka with the melee.

The spartan seems wasteful

You’re only putting 6 terminators in it— just cut down on one and get a land raider

Also if you have any lascannons laying around I’d trade the missile squad for a sunkiller squad any day of the week

I’d trade the despoilers for a tactical squad as well

There are a bunch of strange points decisions in the army tbh— despoilers in a land raider is an odd choice considering you can just get an assault squad to deliver them more reliably and do more damage with hammer of wrath

The despoilers aren't in a land raider, the tarts are going in there

And I didn't want a squadron so I went with the spartan

The tart centurion is going in there as well

I might drop the MoS to slap more tarts in the spartan

Take it as a DT so it doesn’t take up a heavy support slot

also the spartan is unnecessary

What you can do is keep your list the way it is, but give the small terminator squad a land raider DT and take away the spartan DT— that way, you can pack the 6 man terminator squad into the other land raider and save a ton of points

they got a lot and got summoning before primary, plus the loss of AoC and I think theyre back in a good place, and in the right hands are one of the top armies (for the first time since their re-release in 2014 lmao.)

lowkey destroyers are overcosted for their "melee" ability

#

youre taking them for their ranged weapons, and rad grenades are a great help if you can set up charges to make a charge into a unit at the same time as phoenix termies for ID on their spears

their undercosted troops that also do everything perfectly (safe for surviving shooting), their ridiculously cheap apothecaries, heteron guard being bullshit, and then the dreads mean that your dreads, being one of your few I5 ap2, have to do around 4* the work they normally would

This is to help with a list not attack someone’s liked faction. Like others have said you wanna get some sweet sunkillers in over the heavy support squad they come base with BS 5 and ignore wound mitigation. The despoilers is keep if you need the line or swap to tactical marines up to you and how you wanna run them swap the master of signals for a chaplain and if you can swap the spartan. Hopefully you get enough points for a palatine blade squad with jetpacks. Hope this helps a little bit. Also try to get shriekers on your melee squads if you can for the sweet -1 to hit

I'm generally trying to avoid using too many legion specifics, for now I'm just trying to see how "stock" EC pans out

I definetly don't want the spartan, it's quite the points sink, so I'll have to re-arrange some things as others have mentioned

The despoilers feel like a decent mop-up squad behind the assault squad, but I see the logic in a tac squad

Couldn't fit in the palatines, no matter what I moved around. Dropped the spartan for the squadron of land raiders, added a tac squad with chain bayonets.
