#Are you guys working with a marketing company?

the 700 active playerbase is the ONLY thing thats scaring me away, when I see a obvious rugpull like Dungeonborne get 50k immediatly its scary....
IDK playing EU and there are always players to play. In prime time you can fight with 3-4 trios each game if play aggressively.
I think continuous dungeon mechanic works well.
I think the main problem with player count is the games price, It should be like 10 or 15 dollars for Early Access
They haven't done their big marketing push yet
I am not really worried about a rug pull, so much as I'm worried about a good game dying before it gets a chance. We do see that occassionally. Kingdoms of Amalar was pretty great, but it lost a ton of money. Last Oasis was killed off by it's own player base. Stuff like that.
Basically, this game needs to have noob friendly zones to flourish. But it doesn't have the population you need to justify those additional zones. The game needs an injection of like 20k users, minimum. More so when you look at the financial requirements for a game like this. Then you start looking at a target more like 100k+ sales.
So...Where is the marketing. How are they going to get there? An occassional Asmongold clip isn't going to make it happen.
They have addressed this a lot, even in the most recent meet the dev video. They have a lot of plans to push marketing in the future once the game is more fleshed out and in a better place. Specifically expect a large marketing push at the end of May when the wizard and new map are supposed to be coming.
Reading between the lines of what theyve told us, they dont have a large enough of a dev team to pump out the content the current playbase wants in the next couple weeks. So were basically waiting for them to finish more content, then they can bring in fresh players. Essentially expect lower player count for the next few months and then a large influx later with new content.
its extraction trash what u expect
So why are you here?
i really love every other aspect of this game
“Extraction trash” is the centerpiece of what makes the game unique
no its not. there is not any other pvpve action rpg game out there with magic.
Steam reviews reflects this game issues, potentially great ...
Does someone pay you to come in here and trash talk the game every day? If not, what is your goal?
If you hate the genre and the fundamental aspect of the game, don’t play it. If you don’t play the game, why be active in the discord?
They have talked about wanting to have a more finished product and more to show off before they start branching out just let the devs cook! Strap in!
I think my concerns are rooted in the skill curve, and how discouraging it must be for the few and far between new player that is starting say this week.
Imagine it's your first game, you load in on your level 1 rogue, kill a medium hard PVE critter, stop to loot, and get absolutely demolished by a warrior in blues.
10 minutes later it happens again. And again.
Like, for a new player starting right now, I think it would be hard to recommend the game, because they would be getting clowned by people with a hundred hours plus into the game.
Unless...There was a wave of noobs, and maybe those noobs got their own map to learn on or something. 🤷♂️ Anyway. Sometimes good games fail. I think this one has potential, but we need a much bigger player base. Not just to keep it fun for us, but to make sure the devs get paid. Right now they're sitting on what, $250k in sales? Minus steams cut, taxes, and split however many ways?
Love to see that get more balanced for them.
