when do you plan to implement lobbies with gear locks to prevent high tier geared players from entering junk/common geared lobbies?

They plan on implementing a new player map, much like the design tutorial map if you've played it. I doubt they want to split ques up this early and have dead lobbies

which is fine but hopefully something will change. out of the 15 matches i have run today ive only extracted 3 times. and everytime its becasue of fully kitted high tiered players looking for pvp. and voip doesnt seem to work. i dont go in with anything and cant get out with basic resources.

Yeah it does suck with these types of games starting out. There also is bit of a learning curve so everyone dies a lot when they start the game. I think my first 10 games were all deaths. The up side to this is when you do get a good grasp of pvp, there is huge rush when you kill someone that outgears you and you get all their stuff. There defiantly needs to get a practice area, but then again you are not risking anything going in with the base kit. You can also look for people to do group lobbies with, they are a little less crazy then the solo runs. Gl man

i had run over 70 matches before i made the post. ive never killed anyone in pvp with gear better than junk/common. i dont do group runs with people from groups like this because all they ever want to do is pvp while i just want to learn the different bosses or find the loot i need to upgrade my lodge.

I hope they never do this, I play extraction games for the ability to outplay someone and get full set off their body. What’s the point of entering the lobby if I can’t get my upgrade of my kills

the gear disparity is nonexistent right now, most of the people i encounter are at max full green with a blue

The game is also mostly pvp, if you ever do a boss, expect other people to show up 90% of the time

Also I usually go into lobbies with white/green gear. I think I've only seen 1 or 2 matches out of 100 with a guy in full blue (in solos at least). It takes a good amount of time to farm out a blue set so it comes with the risk to be strong than a starter kit

Best way to get better at pvp is just throw yourself into the mix

yes outplaying someone means having the same gear. not being a tier above everyone else and doing better because you have better gear.

gear disparity is actually extrememly huge. if all you can run is junk and everyone you fight has these shiny green and blue armors(you can tell they are upgraded from far away based on the difference in color per tier) then you will never win a fight against them.

this is true but you cant be better when their gear is 4x stronger than yours. that like sitting in rowboat shooting spitballs at a battleship. its not going to help anyone get better. having tiered lobbies where you fight people with a max of 1 tier above what you are wearing would keep the playing field level. its the whole reason dark and darker almost lost half their new player base.

DaD lost most of its playerbase for multiple reasons. Other than white lobbies or a noob map (which is coming) tiered is not a good solution its a bandage

It’s not even close to 3x. Grey to blue is less than a 50% increase. Gear matters tremendously less than skill, but I understand why you want to scapegoat gear instead of reflect on your own performance. One is much easier than the other

also if you want gear to have no influence, there are plenty of pvp games that don't. extraction games usually don't always put you on a 100% even foot gear-wise

This might be a skill issue then, you can avoid combat for 1-2 rounds and farm out a white/green set to at least hold your own. If you don't know how to avoid fights or just lose all the time with greens/white, you're doing something wrong

I would agree with you normally but when I intentionally go out of my way to avoid fighting and still get stuck trying to run from a geared up 3 man team it’s not really possible to farm up a set of green gear.

you do realize the dmg increase from a grey bow to a blue bow is literally 50% right before even adding in the dmg % modifiers on the gear itself? isnt a full blue set just baseline like 15% dmg amp compared to whites. add in another 15% dmg reduction or whatever the difference is full blue slotted it is more than a 50% increase I think even on white gear between health dmg reductions / dmg done and health gained.

If you have played with whites and then played with a full set of blues you feel at least 2x as strong . takes half the shots to kill pve mobs , take half the dmg with your effective healthpool + reductions.

To say you dont is just ignoring the math in the game

then you add in the people running around in full purples / some with even legendaries

your not even playing the same game at that point and its no longer about skill its about time invested in the game , its not whos better at hitting buttons its who sat in the game longer to amass the gear to feel like they are better at the game

Super unlucky. My buddy sent me a screenshot of his solos and he got out with a blue bow, and some green armor. I get lucky if I find a pair of green daggers or pants for my rogue. I don’t find much gear

But getting stuck fighting 2-3 rogues at one time in solos where they are intentionally avoiding hitting eachother is buns

So if I beat someone in better gear then me I’m not outplaying them? Or did you mid understand my post. I go in with nothing other then potions and kill rogues if I find any gear I put it on. Bandages and potions are all I make sure I have.

Looks like a misunderstanding on both our parts. I’m saying that if I go into a game with nothing and get beat because someone has better gear than me that’s not them having more skill that’s them having better gear. I don’t even take potions in because it’s pointless to heal in a fight that I’ve already lost due to having worse gear.

Why is it that we all start with nothing but some players have no problem extracting and getting geared then there are players like you who just can’t seem to extract due to “OP” players… 🤔 The PvP and risk vs reward aspect of the game is what makes it fun. Also I’ve seen plenty of “geared” players get rekt by players wearing junk items because of the skill gap in this game.

dunno i mainly run solos and avoid pvp just so i can get out to craft gear but can never get out because people who are running green/blue gear want to pvp. i usually just let them kill me since there is no point in trying to fight them. ive also never seen anyone running junk gear beat anyone with more than 2pcs of green.

You went from them having just a couple greens to now having a full set of blue vs. full set of junk gear. I assure you, you aren’t running into many players with a “full” set of blues. Also you could be utilizing the soul pouches. They have ones for woodcutting, mining, alchemy. So when you die you still get to take those supplies and eventually craft your greens.

i can guarantee im running into full blue kit players its not hard to tell what their gear is based on the color of their armor. and getting out with the materials to craft those pouches is improbable due to people only wanting to run pvp.

Spotting players, avoiding fights, and extracting with loot is its own skill

Once you do it's very easy to extract with some mats for some upgrades

I did a little experiment to try and see, I went in base kit no med for 5 games. I extracted 4/5 times and every time I saw a person I thought had gear, I just ran the other direction. Got 2 pvp kills on others without gear and lost one pvp fight, i think this might be a you specific problem

I almost only hunt pvp and only find blue players every 15-20+ lobbies or so

i guess i have to say it again. you can tell when its green or blue. its not hard to look at the color/additions for the armor. venom pauldrons start with a shoulder piece, Green (+1) adds snakes down the arms, Blue (+2) changes the color. and with the devs saying that duping is a problem its not hard to realize that its highly likely that people are always running around with full blue kits.
