Grepping through a repo without cloning?

Is there a way to look for strings in a github repo without cloning it locally?

Thanks for the hint but that's still beta, I signed up on a waiting list.
Repos have "Go to file" search but only filenames not content.
And there is a search API

it can be automated in a bash script; think will write a number of git utils that do just that
