This is very off topic but I kinda want to send the reasons I don’t think I am going to transition. This will be a very long message and you could call this oversharing (even though I am comfortable with anyone knowing this) so I will put it in spoilers

|| for me the difference between transitioning or not comes down to wether or not I would plan to take HRT.

1. HRT is not something my body is designed to handle so it will almost certainly cause some kind of health problem, even if it is hard to prove causation
2. I am a only 18 and I am not capable of making big decisions like this yet. Once I am capable of making this decision it will most likely be too late because of biological and social problems
3. My feelings about transitioning very well could be from peer pressure
4. My parents would probably disapprove for the first three reasons even though they are accepting of other trans people. They would still love me and care for me, but it would be a very awkward conversation
5. HRT would lower my chances of being accepted as an astronaut if not invalidating my chances entirely
6. I haven’t had the chance to give being a boy with some female characteristics a fair try||

again I am perfectly comfortable with anyone knowing this and it’s not really a secret

I think 5 and 6 are reasonable, 2 is ||I and many others transitioned 10 years after your current age or longer so it'll be fine if you choose to do it later||, 3 is ||also something I worried about, I would say to give it time.||
||I will say there are female astronauts, but I definitely understand the apprehension with HRT and that profession as it's a largely governmental position which means that you're kind of up to the whims of the administrations that you're an astronaut under as to whether or not you can actually do the job||

||I’m not actually worried about transphobia in the government with 6. NASA usually hires based on whoever is best for a specific mission, and if the don’t now they probably will by the time I would work for them. Even if they don’t, there are several other organizations I could work for. The problem is medical issues. If there is someone with mild medical issues and someone with none, they will pick the person with none because they will have a better chance at making it home||
