#I think you should make me the editor for Raysfire Plus, VODs and DDOR

wake up guys new channel dropped
real
Bruh I want to be the vod guy but even I’ve not made a long ass post about it
just wait your turn for the official submission like everyone else
he I think he wants to be more of the plus guy
I’m aware I was using vod guy as my personal example
welp I missed the last submission for actual editor and I'm pretty sure I've wanted to be editor for longer than most people
also u can be vod guy I don't give a shit that would be the most boring one
cause it requires like 0 effort
I only said that one because rays said he wants a vod guy first
also you can't really get your point across without saying smth
ALSOOO what tf would be in the submission
like I'm sure everyone on the earth can cut two clips down for VODS and DDOR
also, finally, have you put effort into trying to edit his videos before
cause to me it sounds like you wanna be an editor but you don't wanna put the effort in to be the editor
lmao bro knows nothing about me

is this real?
I'm just really confused why you would post something like this instead of just applying via the editor contest a couple months ago
cause I wasn't on discord much at that time n
and didn't see it till it was over😭
He announced it everywhere, like literally every platform. It's a shame you missed it, but it was open for weeks. I don't think this is the right way to try to go about anything, especially when insulting others like inferring Swirren isn't good at editing, which is wrong.
i didn't mean to infer that
ohh actually I think ik what u mean and he was being a dick so I was a dick back
I wasn't watching twitch at that time, my other acc that I rarely use was the only one in this server and I wasn't subbed to DDOR cause i don't really like those vids😿
I'm just going to say this: This post doesn't serve you in what you want. Being patient and acting professional is how to get hired when rays is comfortable hiring another person, not this.
welp rays said the only reason he's not hiring is because he doesn't have enough money but the money isn't why I wanna do it
I get the feeling you're young, and you may not get why this isn't professional.
100%
I mean, you literally said you don't like the DDOR vids, yet above, you're asking him to allow you to work on them. If I were in his shoes -- and I've owned a business before! -- I would absolutely not hire anyone who said that in the same post they were begging me to work on it, you know?
well I typed that wrong
what I meant to say was I don't like short vids
but I can edit them
And the thing is, half-assing something that you're presenting as a portfolio example is really, really not good. It should be your absolute best work, a shining example of what you bring to the table.
cause editing shorts vids takes a long enough time for it to not be short
yeah you're right with that
just it was 1:30am and I couldn't redo it at that point cause I was way too tired
i know it was dumb though
If you're serious, practice. There's no rush to this. You don't have to make it all in one day. Go to the vods channel, download some vids, and practice making the kind of vids you want, and perfect it. Set incremental goals, like practicing editing one video a week until you've got a workflow down. But this post... this ain't it, chief. Sorry. It's hella unprofessional, and it really addresses too many shortcomings that you're bringing attention to. Make work you want to stand behind (instead of giving excuses for).
There's also the added complication of you being a minor in another country. The tax situation for that is bonkers, no joke, and that does present some problems. You're going to need your work to be so far surpassing others if you want to be considered.
You might find that you build up a good enough editing portfolio to try applying to other streamers, too, if you keep working at editing. Or maybe create your own content. Editing is a good skill to have in today's environment. Take those 90 extra hours a week and grind your skills. Well, not all 90 hours. But you know what I mean.
And I say all this because, in the end... Rays isn't going to hire an editor he isn't paying. Period. I've somehow conned him into accepting the work i make for the stream, but i'm a literal professional who can decide what I want to make and when I want to gift it.
bro I've tried editing for other people and no-one responds so I just have up and decided to only keep going with rays cause he's someone I actually wanna edit for💀
alright thanks
They're not responding because most people don't need an editor unless they're reaching out to their viewers to try to find one. Hone your skills and wait for your move. Your impatience isn't going to make you look professional, and to be honest, I'm worried that you're pushing your services for free because you may not be legally old enough to have a job. If this is true, you really SHOULD NOT be applying to stuff like this. Use the time to become pro.
I'm old enough to have a job I'm just offering for free because there's a low chance someones gonna hire someone with no professional experience
also they did need editors kike explicitly asking
just me not having proper professional experience made them say nope
and if everyones saying nope then I cant get the experience for them to say yep
Okay, cool, good to know. Then I'd say you need to hone your skills, not keep trying to apply.
fair enough, thanks
I think experience is underrated if you have a portfolio that proves you can edit. Also, some people want folks to use their workflows, which may or may not work for the editor. Creative jobs are sometimes very difficult and very competitive, but the only thing that gives you an advantage in something like that is being able to slap your portfolio down and say "I can do this."
For you, you'll need to pull vods and work on super funny edits, if you want to showcase rays' sense of humor.
yeah but with that it's hard to edit like that because although rays is funny I can't just cut half the levels out so they don't know what's going on because most the video is the actual screen and whats showing and if it's cutting to a new clip every 5 seconds that'd get confusing/annoying
So I'll leave it here, but please know, I am here with the best of intentions on telling you why this isn't a good idea. Talent is overrated. Practicing a skill is what gets you there. I say this from experience. Make this your goal, spend six months to a year watching every single tip and trick you can find to make your vids better, and pull the vods to get some content to practice on. Edit some creative stuff, do some meme edits, spend a week analyzing and working on thumbnails. It's all the little things.
when I tried last year I watched some Raysfire Plus vids for inspiration I should prob do that again
Yeah. Treat it like a video essay, make outlines. Consider storyboarding. You'll get there.
Anyway, good luck
thanks alot
it's more of me just not getting it rather than being young cause I never learnt how to be professional lmao
Me when I lie
DONT LISTEN TO THE HATERS KEEP IT UP
